One of the people who donated $500 to the Camp Wanatachi cause and had a Skype conversation with Bridget wrote about it on their LiveJournal. Apparently, Bridget even stayed a bit longer than the 30 minutes she had agreed to. She sounds like the genuinely lovely person we all had her figured to be anyway! The Camp Wanatachi pledge drive met its goal and will be moving forward, thanks to the generous help of a number of people. Six people pledged enough for the half hour Skype conversation with Bridget. If any of you are out there, we’d love love love a write up of how it goes! Best. Lesbian. Week. Ever. (June 18, 2010)
by AfterEllen.com staff June 18, 2010

THIS JUST IN: THE CREATOR OF CAMP WANATACHI WANTS YOUR LESBIAN CAMP STORIES
Over the past few months, a considerable buzz has surrounded the musical Camp Wanatachi, a quirky story about an all-girls Christian summer camp in which two of the campers fall in love.

When it debuted at New York’s Fringe Festival last year, Time Out New York called it “refreshing and uplifting and gave it four stars. New York Magazine dubbed it a hilariously subversive piece of theater.” Even we had something to say about it.

Produced by Bridget Regan of Legend of the Seeker and Ian Pai, co-founder of Blue Man Group and musical director of Fischerspooner, the zany musical is set to forward-sounding electro tracks with whimsical yet hormone-driven lyrics that evoke the frenetic and confusing but often exhilarating time called adolescence. It features beats by hip-hop producer Machinedrum and was arranged by up and coming composer Conrad Winslow.

The rest of the article/interview can be found at the following link, however, there is adult content, so view at your own discretion. Also, they are looking for stories about lesbian experiences at summer camp, whether as a camper or a counselor. So, well, if you’ve got any stories that you want to share, the details are after the interview. Here it is: http://www.afterellen.com/blwe/06-18-10?page=0,1

Bridget at the Camp Wanatachi ConcertI Spent a Night at Camp Wanatachi

Bridget Regan has taken a hands-on approach to her involvement in the Camp Wanatachi project.  At the Camp Wanatachi Benefit Concert on June 3rd, Bridget was seen before the show lugging equipment bins in a stunning red dress, dealing with the box office and greeting people at the doors to the event.  She was classy and gracious and was busting her butt to make sure everything went without a hitch, as any good producer should.  I got a chance to speak with her after the concert and asked her what her motivation was for becoming involved in Camp Wanatachi.  She responded by saying that she has always had a passion for musical theater since she was young.  When a friend had her listen to a song written by Natalie Weiss, creator of Camp Wanatachi and a friend of Bridget’s from their time at acting school, she was immediately blown away by the distinctive sound and felt inspired to lend her support to the project.  She has done this by becoming a co-producer, adding her name to the project to increase interest and dedicating a tremendous amount of time and effort to its success since returning to the U.S. after wrapping up her role on Legend of the Seeker in New Zealand.

Bridget Tweeted this but just so everyone knows, Camp Wanatachi has a Facebook page. You can check it out here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Camp-Wanatachi/85296411450

The Camp Wanatachi folks are having a pledge drive to make the Camp Wanatachi Concert a reality. Some of the folks involved are even forgoing payment for their services in order to put this production on but they need more funds. Their stated goal is $5,000 but I’m sure they would be ecstatic with more. And there are some great incentives to pledge. At the $100 level, you get a CD signed by the cast and production team, including our Bridget. For $500, you get a 30 minute Skype session with Bridget! And for $5,000, Bridget and the rest of the production team will take you out for drinks in New York City! Head on over to the pledge site, check it out, see what they are offering. Minimum pledge, $1.

They will be putting on two shows, on June 3rd and 4th, and it is possible that Bridget might be there. We don’t know for certain but she’s been pretty involved, so there’s a shot.  If anyone goes, please send us a write up to put on the site! Thanks!

The pledge site can be found here, with information pertaining to the concerts and the pledging incentives: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1757805840/camp-wanatachi-a-new-musical

Bridget Regan shares her tips for healthy living
by Ashley Mateo May 21, 2010

Bridget Regan’s cult series Legend of the Seeker, a supernatural action-adventure, ends this weekend, but we talked to the star today to get the inside scoop on her the finale, upcoming projects and her healthy lifestyle.

SELFy Stars: So tomorrow marks the end of Legend of the Seeker. So sad! How did it feel, bringing the show to an end?
Bridget Regan: It was a surprise because the second season has been going so well, but there are so many factors that don’t really have to do with what I do everyday, so you know, it’s not my realm of control and I’m just rolling with it. We did 44 episodes, which is a lot for a TV series, and it feels like it was longer than two years to me. We have an amazing fanbase, which is one of the things that’s so disappointing, because there’s such an appetite for the show. And I know the fans have been really fighting and pushing and raising money and putting ads out and making all these efforts to keep the show going and I know that they’re incredibly disappointed, and that’s hard, you know?

What comes next for you?
I’m producing a musical called Camp Wanatachi about two girls who fall in love at Christian summer camp. It’s really funny and fun and beautiful and it’s got really cool music, it’s got really neat downtown-sounding music that has never really meshed with musical theatre before. And I have a film called The Best and The Brightest coming out soon with Neil Patrick Harris and Amy Sedaris. It’s soo funny and the total opposite of Seeker, so it was really great. I play NPH’s ex-girlfriend. He and his wife are kind of having to put on this ruse to get their child into private school in Manhattan, so they hire Amy Sedaris, this powerful wiz at getting kids into school with connections and coaching. He ends up needing to pretend he has a mistress to charm this very powerful man played by Christopher McDonald. So he calls me up and I’m this crazy out-of-work actress who takes the bait a little too seriously and is in for more than just helping him out. She’s a bit delusional, which was a lot of fun. Neil Patrick Harris was absolutely amazing. I’m a huge fan of musical theatre, so I’ve seen a lot of his work and I was absolutely thrilled to work with him. He’s hilarious and charming and lovely and everything you’d think he would be.

Bridget Regan talks the conclusion of ‘Legend of the Seeker’ & her future plans!
by Travon Epps & Meriam Bouarrouj May 21, 2010

Bridget Regan has been seen playing a variety of roles, but perhaps she’s most known for bringing to life the character of Kahlan in the ABC Studio Sci-fi drama Legend of the Seeker. Regan has had to say farewell to the character this season as the show is set to air its series finale this weekend, a series she says she will always look back fondly on. She recently discussed with me what she’ll cherish most from her role and time on Legend of the Seeker, what fans can expect from the finale, as well as the exciting projects up next for her!

What has most appealed to you about your role of Kahlan in Legend of the Seeker?

Bridget-I like that she’s a killer. (Laughs) I don’t know why that sounds so funny to me but I like that she’s different and that on one side of her she’s really compassionate and a really good person and fighting for what’s right and fair, yet the other side of her is this ruthless killer. I like that.

Part of the Save the Seeker campaign has launched a letter writing campaign to the Ellen Show trying to get Bridget to appear on the program. This would be incredible publicity for our beloved actress. There’s even a bit in the form letter talking about Bridget’s work with Camp Wanatachi, which may appeal to the Ellen people. If you wish to join in this campaign and help Bridget reach new heights, here’s the link: http://community.livejournal.com/legendofseeker/574214.html’

So let’s support our girl, who is without doubt one of the finest actresses working today!
