Category: Save the Seeker

Part of the Save the Seeker campaign has launched a letter writing campaign to the Ellen Show trying to get Bridget to appear on the program. This would be incredible publicity for our beloved actress. There’s even a bit in the form letter talking about Bridget’s work with Camp Wanatachi, which may appeal to the Ellen people. If you wish to join in this campaign and help Bridget reach new heights, here’s the link: http://community.livejournal.com/legendofseeker/574214.html’

So let’s support our girl, who is without doubt one of the finest actresses working today!

Legend of the Legend
April 29, 2010 11:47 am

Ever since Entertainment Weekly posted that Legend of the Seeker was canceled Chris and I have been watching the fandom tie itself into knots trying to figure out what do do. People quoting various sources, coming up with new campaign ideas, and asking why HerBlueEyes.com has thrown in the towel when there’s still a chance that the show could be saved. I had no idea when I originally posted the list of Tribune stations that we were going to become a leader in trying to save Legend of the Seeker. This has put us into a bit of a quandary because we don’t want to give you all false hope, but we don’t want to give up if there’s even a chance to save the show.

I wrote to my sources and while everyone involved appreciates all the effort that people have been putting in to getting Legend a third season, the show is canceled and nothing short of divine intervention will save it. At this point, there is nothing that we, as fans, can do to have it brought back. I’m told that considering the impact the economy had on local stations, we’re lucky that Seeker lasted as long as it did. They knew the final episodes of this season might have to serve as the series finale so we will get some closure in these last few episodes. But this really is the end for the show.

I’m sorry guys, if there was even a small chance the show could be saved we’d jump all over it.

The End?
April 26, 2010 6:00 pm

This morning Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello reported that according to his sources, Legend of the Seeker has been canceled and will not return for a third season. (link) I contacted a source that I have and while they hadn’t heard anything about it, they supposed it was true. What do I personally make of all this? I don’t know. Until someone comes out officially and says one way or the other, I’m inclined to at lease kindle a small glimmer of hope… but that’s really all it is at this point. A glimmer.

We’ve unsticked our Save the Seeker post from the top of the page, but it’s still in existence here if you wish to keep on writing: http://herblueeyes.com/2010/02/05/help-legend-of-the-seeker-get-a-3rd-season/

Chris and I would like to thank everyone who wrote to their local stations and to ABC Studios for all their work and dedication to the show and we hope to keep seeing you around the site.

A Note on Panic
March 5, 2010 3:13 pm

Hey guys, we’ve been seeing a lot of panic in our comments, our inboxes, and around the web. ABC/Disney hasn’t made any decision yet about renewing Legend of the Seeker and it’s not over till they say it’s over… and maybe not even then.

I know that those of you who have emailed Tribune are getting back letters saying that the show has been canceled, but that isn’t correct. What they should be saying is that they have decided not to purchase a third season. Nothing says we can’t try and change their mind.

What all of this means for us is that we should keep writing (and sending persimmons) to Tribune, ABC, and our local Seeker showing stations. As always, actual physical letters are better then email. I know we’re all passionate about the show but please be nice and courteous in your letters. Let them know that you love the show and you’d hate to see it go. Also, buying the show on on DVD and iTunes is a WONDERFUL way to show your support as those numbers are closely watched.

At this point, ABC isn’t shopping Legend of the Seeker around to other networks so writing to SyFy or other stations isn’t really going to do us any good. If that changes we’ll let you know but there’s no point in wasting our resources on something that won’t help us.

Below are links to the stations showing Legend in major metropolitan areas (thanks flip!). Most of these stations have online contact forms but if they don’t, and/or you have options, you’re looking for Programming. The links to ABC studios and Disney-ABC Domestic Television are at the bottom. Happy writing!

Dianne, who apparently woke up yesterday thinking about how she could be REALLY awesome, has sent us a HUGE list that she complied last year of international stations showing Legend of the Seeker. I’ve linked to the contact page if I could figure out were they were and I’ve listed physical mailing address if I could find them.  If you’re in a non-English speaking country please double check any address I’ve provided before using it! If you find a mistake or you know of an international site that I’ve missed, let me know. And go check out the UK SciFi site, they’ve got a really nifty background…

To assist in our efforts to get LotS back for a third season, Lindsey and I agreed to write up a form letter that our users can copy and paste into some kind of text document and print off and send to their local stations. If you’ve already sent something in, that’s great. You can still use this letter to send to your own or other stations. If you haven’t, you’re welcome to use this. We thought if people did not have to write their own letters, it might make the prospect of sending something in seem a little simpler. We tried to cover the most salient points in a concise fashion. Getting the point across quickly and simply is a good thing! Let’s fight for Kahlan and the rest of her gang and “Save the Seeker!”

Letter from Mike Sussman
February 6, 2010 10:50 pm

(This was originally posted in our comments but as it answers a lot of questions we’ve been getting we’re going to go ahead a publish it here in the hopes that it helps you all in your writing endeavors.)

You guys are just too awesome. Everyone on “Legend of the Seeker” is so very grateful for all the love and support.

So. I’ve gotten a lot of questions from people, asking what they can do to help make sure we get a 3rd season.

If you live in the U.S., a letter to your local station is probably the best way to show your support. In the U.S., these stations need to know that people are watching “Seeker” and want more of it – and if the show is on at an inconvenient time, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to also ask them to put us on in a better time slot, too! Better times means more viewers.

Want to see a third season of Legend of the Seeker starring our very own Bridget Regan? We all need write into our local Seeker showing stations (ah, alliteration) and ABC/Disney to let them know that we want more of the show. Syndicated shows, like LotS, are only on the air as long as stations are buying them so writing to your local (or not so local if you’re so inclined) station and letting them know you love the show would really help. According to Mike, written letters are better then email! Writing to ABC is just as important, if not more so, then writing to your local station. Please be respectful and polite in your message, it really does make a difference. Running your message through spell check so it looks all nice and shiny couldn’t hurt either.
