Interview with Bridget Regan, “Legend of the Seeker” by Rebecca Harper November 16, 2009
Fans of Legend of the Seeker know her as Kahlan the Confessor, a powerful woman who can make anyone she touches tell the truth — but in exchange, they lose their free will and are compelled to obey her for as long as they live. And while the fantasy action series has been Bridget Regan’s breakout role, the 27-year-old actress has appeared in everything from The Black Donnellys to last year’s Sex and the City movie. (Regan played a hostess.)
We recently spoke to Regan when she was visiting New York to promote the Season 2 premiere of Legend of the Seeker. She’d flown in all the way from New Zealand, where she’d just finished shooting episode 10, and she was kind enough to speak to us about her co-star — “He does have abs of steel, that Craig Horner” — and their relationship, but the actress also told us about a brief encounter she had with a Hulu fan: “During the hiatus, I was in New York and this guy stopped me to say, ‘You’re the chick in the water on Hulu,’” she said. “I guess there was some picture of me smiling in the water on your home page. It was so cool, I was like ‘Yeah, that’s me! I’m the chick in the water on Hulu, sure!’”
‘Seeker’ Star Found Spotlight
By Karla Peterson November 15, 2009
How does a thoroughly modern girl from sunny San Diego prepare to play a dagger-wielding, mind-controlling heroine from another TV dimension?
If you are “Legend of the Seeker” star Bridget Regan, it helps to start early.
“I was always quite determined,” the 27-year-old actress said. “Apparently, I wore white cowboy boots for a year straight when I was 5. My mom always said there was no arguing with me.”
She was born and raised in Carlsbad, and her parents still live there. But Regan spends nine months of the year in New Zealand shooting “Legend of the Seeker,” a fantasy drama now in its second season. The show airs locally on KSWB/Channel 69 (Cable 5).

The Associated Press has posted an interview with Bridget & Craig Horner. I have no idea if it was filmed this week or when they were in the states for their press tour. Thanks to Jane for the heads up!
Sorry, for those of you who tried to watch it previously, I copied the code from the wrong vid. It’s the right one now.
Here is the second half of the interview Bridget and Craig did for TVGuide. This is the part where they actually answered the questions that people were asked to submit. Thanks to Jane for the link!
TV Tidbits – MISSING SCHOOL: UNCSA GRAD CHERISHES EDUCATION
by Tim Clodfelter November 8, 2009
[HBE.com note: We've extracted just Bridget's part of the article, click the link at the end to read the entire thing.]
The new season of the syndicated series Legend of the Seeker starts tonight (7 p.m. on WMYV, channel 15), but for star Bridget Regan the season is already at the halfway mark.
Regan, a 2004 graduate of the UNC School of the Arts’ School of Drama, was in the States last week on a publicity jaunt to promote Seeker before returning to film the show’s 11th episode out of 22 that will be produced this season, the show’s second.
The series is a fantasy-adventure that is filmed in New Zealand. She plays Kahlan, an enigmatic warrior who fights the forces of evil alongside a young woodsman and a wizard. “I got to do a swordfight the other day, which was really cool,” Regan said in a phone interview.
Interview: Bridget Regan (Kahlan) from Legend of the Seeker by Alix at The TV Chick November 7, 2009
I would not call myself a lover of all things fantasy (vampire, yes…fantasy, not so much). However, I thought the premise of Legend of the Seeker (based on the book series written by Terry Goodkind) was interesting. The acting was wonderful, the scenery was breathtaking, and I really found myself very interested in the story. So, maybe I am slowly revising my take on fantasy/sci-fi…and getting aboard the Legend of the Seeker train. I do adore Lost, but that’s more sci-fi lite than anything else. In any case, Legend of the Seeker returns tonight with its 2nd season premiere. I have seen it, and I can tell you it is fantastic. I recently had the chance to chat with the lovely and gracious Bridget Regan, who plays Kahlan (or The Mother Confessor), about filming, the fantasy genre, her character and what’s coming up this season.
What originally attracted you to the show?
Well, it was the role. The character of Kahlan was not like any part I had ever auditioned for or played. So, I was immediately drawn to it. I thought that she was really tough and kind of timeless, epic and theatrical which I really was drawn to. I went to a drama school and I grew up doing theater, so I quite liked that the show was kind of heightened and it wasn’t the sort of low energy, common chit-chat show, it was big and epic and exciting and high stakes and all that which I loved.
The PCZ Interview with Bridget Regan from Legend of the Seeker by Joseph Dilworth Jr. November 6, 2009
The second season of Legend of the Seeker debuts in syndication the weekend of November 7th and 8th (check local listings for channel and time). In the first season finale Richard Cypher, after having travelled into the future, fulfilled his destiny and defeated the dark tyrant Darken Rahl. However, if you thought that was the end of the story, you are very wrong. The premiere holds a lot of surprise revelations as well as a new addition to our band of heroes. A couple of days before the premiere we spoke with Bridget Regan, who plays the Confessor Kahlan Amnell. Check back over the weekend for our full review of the season two premiere and also our interview with Craig Horner (Richard Cypher)! For now, enjoy Joe’s chat with the very wonderful Bridget Regan.
Bridget Regan: Hi Joe, how are you?
PCZ: I’m great, how are you?
BR: Really good, thanks.
PCZ: Thank you very much for taking the time to talk to me today.
BR: Hey, thanks for talking to me.
PCZ: First of all, congratulations on the second season.
