Can’t wait for the new episode. Only 1 hr 25 minutes! YEAH. It looks absolutely amazing.

Well, I liked it. This episode was much less cheesy and more touching than I had expected. John Rhys Davies was wonderful as Panis Rahl/the scholar. His interaction with all of the characters was spot on and beautifully acted.
I know a lot of people were annoyed by young Zedd (Gabriel Mann) in Wizard, but I didn’t mind him in that and absolutely loved him in this one. I could see that converging of a spoilt and privileged man and a responsible and brilliant one. I like to see Zedd and Thaddicus get some focus in general as they are the Seeker’s family and this offered amazing insight into the family history. Nice plot advancement as well, knowing now that they have some actual instruction on the stone once they have it.
There was one moment that really surprised me though. When Darken Rahl embraced his father and asked his forgiveness, was he being sincere? I hope so.

Nice one … cynical Cara and a nice Zedd Episode BUT nothing special ;(
Some “disposable” sister of the “dark” , seems they only come in dozents.. and get wastet….
Nice Smile Scene with Richard and Kahlan … but nothing to fancy.
Miss those “long” Talks between them
Panis Rahl was nice , but hey the guy turned really old does anybody thought so too …
( just watched Shogun again … SOME time ago )
So no third season … well sad but we will see Kahlan( Bridget) again , dont you think ?

@Busse – why do you say there’s no season 3? It’s not over till the fat lady sings!
I’m holding up all my hopes that Legend of the Seeker gets renewed for season 3! Stay positive guys!

I liked this ep… Just wish there was more romance between Richard and Kahlan.
Cara was funny as usual, and Zed was great too.
A rating from me.

Nice fight sequence this week. Next week looks really good. Katrina Law as Mord-Sith!

I really enjoyed the episode. I love how Cara gets so many cool lines. The fight scenes were awesome. This is my favorite show and I can not wait to see the rest of the episodes for season 2. I think that they just keep getting better and better.

the fight scenes are way too great!!!

Vengeance was another solid episode. Rating – A.
This episode emphasized Zedd and Richard, since it was Richard’s father and the killer of Zedd’s father who had returned as Panis Rahl. The moral of this episode seemed to be the importance of forgiveness. The most startling thing in this episode was when Darken Rahl asked Panis Rahl if he (Panis) could forgive him (Darken). That was startling.
The fight scene was very well done, with Kahlan throwing 2 knives in a very nice pair of shots, and Cara flipping some Sisters of the Dark.
A recurring theme of LotS is dark secrets. Everyone on the show seems to have some dark secrets. For example, Cara revealed to Kahlan that she killed Kahlan’s sister. Zedd reveals in Vengeance that he is responsible for the birth of Darken Rahl. Richard revealed that he was hiding his headaches so as not to concern Kahlan. And Kahlan revealed how her father had abused her and her sister as a child. Does everybody on this show have a dysfunctional family?
Vengeance was an uplifting episode, in that Panis Rahl sought and won redemption. Season Two continues its winning streak. Now if only there were some good news on a Season Three.

I enjoyed this ep partly cuz I’m a LotR fan so it was fun to see John Rhys.
Storyline was quite good but a bit complicated seeming to make Zed the unwitting villain because of past deeds.
Biggest complaint was not enough Kahlan and Cara for my liking.
Sorry guys, but the women rule this show.
Thanks to the talents of Bridget and Tabrett and Daynas choreography the fight scenes involving the women are always phenomenal.
I hope we get a third (4th,5th,etc.) season of this show because even when I can find fault with it,I am ALWAYS entertained, ALWAYS looking forward to the next ep and ALWAYS glued to my TV while the show is on.

I really enjoyed this one, too, much more than I thought I would. It wasn’t just a Zedd-episode but rather by giving us Zedd’s backstory we got a lot of Richard’s and Darken Rahl’s as well. I’ve been waiting for that, hoping to finally hear the reason Richard was the chosen one and why Darken is so evil. I loved what they came up with – the Zoranders were mentors to the Rahls. And that Richard’s father turned out to be a good guy. And why Panis Rahl conceived a child with Zedd’s daughter – that has always bugged me.
JRD was awesome! Bridget brought up Indiana Jones in a tweet and that’s what I was thinking as I watched…”Bad dates…” He has a great knack for injecting a bit of humor – when that paper flew across his face as the show went to commercial…his expression was priceless. I loved his character trying to atone for his past mistakes and getting to spend time with his son and making things right with Zedd.
As much of a romantic that I am, I was totally OK with what this episode gave us in terms of Kahlan and Richard. It may be bits here and there but they were quality bits and enough for me. They have such good chemistry that even just a look between them says a lot. When he was talking with Horace and when he looked over and saw Kahlan, his features softened just a little.
And the double dagger throw was awesome!
And the conversation between Zedd and Richard at the end was the perfect way to end it.

Mheh. B grade. Some interesting stuff, but lacked the dramatic punch that I like. Imagine if this was your first Ep, you’d be totally lost and bored.
On that regard, they ought to make a new intro that explains whats up, a la Gilligan’s Island; at least explain what a confessor is, what a Mord Sith is, what is a Seeker of Truth, you know just :30 seconds to groove in newbies without having to watch 36 eposides first. Mr. Producer, put that on your list to have done for season 3 WHEN DISNEY RENEWS IT!
Bridget looks lovely, as always, but Cara has the best lines (and looks lovely). As sheila said, “not enough Kahlan and Cara for my liking… the women rule this show.”

I’m annoyed at this episode for 2 reasons. 1–Continuity. If Panis Rahl were alive, then when Richard died there wouldn’t have been the time when Cara’s agiel stopped working because there would still be a Rahl alive. And him asking for forgiveness and being a good guy just demeans his character a lot, in my opinion. 2-Sisters of the Dark are now “the foot” from ninja turtles or even “goombas” from Mario Bros. They should be able to use their Han to cut people in half with wind. Magic nerf.
Otherwise, still great acting with what they are given. GREAT action sequences as well. And Richard and Kahlan are so hot. And Cara is amazing comic relief. And I love the moral dilemmas.
50/50 good/bad in my opinion. I watched “Mirror” and felt better. So funny.

2-Sisters of the Dark are now “the foot” from ninja turtles…. -Miranda
HAH! Too true.
I liked the way they fleshed-out Zedd as a character a little more, but I have missed seeing Kahlan as a more dominant part of the weekly stories. Bridget is too good to waste as background/support.
The death scene was touching, but a little lame to me. I mean, if you have a large, sharp piece of metal sticking into your heart/lungs wouldn’t you be a little out of breath or coughing up blood or SOMETHING? He was just speaking normally and like, oh…time to go….dead.
I couldn’t help but think of Austin Powers when Zedd and Daddy Rahl were discussing his potency. They’ve stolen my MOJO! =)
Btw, the guy they had playing young Daddy Rahl was creepin me out for some reason. Yucko.
SEASON 3, do not go gentle into that good night!
No season 3 would REALLY suck, but if it can’t be, then BRIDGET REGAN for the role of Wonder Woman! She’d be perfect!
By Lindsey, April 19, 2010 @ 10:47 pm
@Miranda There’s a HUGE aspect of the books here that they have yet to talk about in the show that deals with your first problem
****Spoilers****
In the books, and a few times in the show, they have shown the D’Harans kneeling and saying a chant about Lord Rhal guiding them and protecting them. This is actually part of a centuries old spell that binds all of the D’Harans to the Lord Rhal. However, at one point in the books Richard is gone and it turns out that the people have to know specifically who the current Lord Rhal is so they know who they are pledging their allegiance to with the chant… or something along those lines, I read the books long, long ago. I’d assume the same thing applies to the agiels.
****End Spoilers****

@Miranda
Regarding the agiel not working with Richard dead, Lindsey is right about the bond between the d’harans and Lord Rahl. There is a bit of a contradiction in the show though since knowing what we know from the books Triana’s (Charisma Carpenter) agiel in episode Marked shouldn’t have worked when they didn’t know that there is a Lord Rahl out there and it’s Richard.
By loise, April 22, 2010 @ 7:33 am
i never heard Kahlan speak any word on this epi.haha
By Miranda, April 22, 2010 @ 5:57 pm
Yeppers to all who replied. There is a lot of confusion and contradictions, but I really try to just ignore it. I mean, I’m believing in magic in the first place, right? So who’s to say it can’t work like computers and just suddenly have problems out of nowhere for no reason and then fix themselves. *lol*
And yes, definitely needed more Kahlan!
OH—and the reason that the young Panis Rahl looks so creepy is because that’s what Darken Rahl was supposed to look like from his description in the books. And he always creeped me out in the books!
But didn’t it look like Panis was waiting to get stabbed by the metal frisbee?
By Purplexion, April 22, 2010 @ 7:24 pm
Yes, he was supposedly taking one of their death butterflies to protect Zedd and his brother, but it was in a kinda slow motion/glitchy sorta way.
As far as Panis Rahl, I didn’t just mean him the character. That guy playing him was just creepy-lookin period. Fit the part way too well.
Oh well, two more days til new Bridget film. =)

I think we all have to ignore little bit of plot holes to enjoy pretty much most tv shows, the writers are human after all. There are just so many good things in the show that they outweigh the little issues here and there by a lot, at least in my mind….
