Looking forward to this one.Enjoyed the story in the book and interested in the addition of Kahlans father.
By Melissa, March 20, 2010 @ 1:18 pm
Can’t wait, can’t wait, only 44 minutes and I can watch it on WGN America, if only they would not be so difficult about next season. I am so ready for new episodes especially this one.
By sheila, March 20, 2010 @ 5:49 pm
Loved it 100%. Big A++ from me.
(spoiler alert)
Glad they gave Kahlans father redeeming qualities,I was expecting to hate him. In the book Kahlans father is a king who taught her all of his battle techniques making her the awesome fighter she is in the stories.
They managed to capture this story just about the way I pictured it when reading the book.
By the time this takes place, Kahlan and Cara are good friends in the book and I’m happy to see they are incorporating more scenes which show this friendship growing.
Bridget was FABULOUS as usual… reacting to all of the unseen blows, to meeting up with her hated father again and realizing he might not be as bad as she had believed and to seeing her beloved mother.(Bridget joked about getting her folks a cameo role on the series..it would have been great if her real mom had been in NZ when this was shot and had been given the role.)
In the books Nicci becomes Richards ally in this story, but I can’t help
but wonder what kind of mischief we will see from her on the series. That is one powerful and scary woman.
Standing O’s to all the cast and crew…you had me glued to my TV screen.

@sheila,
Thanks for the big thumbs up. Now I’m really excited.

Finally a storyline episode again. And as usual for season 2 it was really nice.
[spoiler]
They brought the essence of the maternity spell along quite nicely and split up the sisters of the Dark. Now i hope there will be some mentioning of Jagang before the end of the season and i would really cry
Bridgets Fighting whilst Nicci was hit by the stranger in the pub was really great acting. And it was the more family friendly version of the thing happening in the book
And the Cara/Kahlan friendship is really growing, like when Kahlan was poisoned the “Damnit Wizard can you speed it up?”
Now i only hope that Nicci will come to the Good Side! (Technically she said the words that she also said in the books: That she is of neither side, and serves noone … but at that moment of time she had an affection for Richard)
That would be a trifecta of girlpower: Kahlan, Cara and Nicci
Keep up the good work.

I loved this episode. I was so excited that it was finally new and this episode was Kahlan based. I enjoy all of the episodes but I especially enjoy the ones where Bridget is an important part. Once again Bridget was wonderful.
The way that Bridget/Kahlan reacted to the blows that Nicci was receiving, to her interaction with her father, and her emotions in being able to see her mother again was portrayed wonderfully. It was awesome.
My mom watched the episode with me and she was like wow she (Nicci) is a mean b**ch. I gave her a quick rundown on what happens in the books and how it was being showed on TV and how it was different, and how they might be able to proceed in the future. I don’t really mind that the books and television is different. I think that it would be really hard to bring how the books are to the small screen. I loved the books as much as I love the show.
At the end when the poison really takes hold of Nicci and Kahlan and Richard is trying to save both of them was heartbreaking. **Note** it is hard to eat lunch while you are trying not to get emotional about a show LOL!!! Richard’s and Kahlan’s reunion at the end was so sweet.
The chemistry between Bridget and Craig comes through in their performances. You can see their love of these characters really shine through. I absolutely love this show. In my humble opinion it is the best thing on television right now. I can’t wait to see where the adventure takes us next.

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about this episode since it seemed like they were going to condense Faith of the fallen into one episode, which is one of my favorite books in the series. Nicci had cast the spell and taken Richard away within the first few minutes which seemed a bit rushed to me but since that point on the episode was great. While different from the book I felt the writers did bring some of the core elements into the show and overall it was quite satisfying.
Bridget was awesome as always and the reunion of Kahlan & Richard was sweet. I did feel that the departure sequence when Richard was leaving could have been a bit more heart breaking like in the book but that’s just nitpicking.
As Bridget has said in one of her interviews there is nothing like it and I couldn’t agree more. Here’s to not too much hiatus and many more seasons of the wonderful Legend of the Seeker and watch our lovely Bridget and co. dazzle us with their performances…

This episode was further proof we need to keep the gang employed over there in NZ.
It may just be me, but that hour of LOTS every week goes by awfully fast. Seems as soon as it starts, its over.
By Deidre, March 21, 2010 @ 6:57 pm
Already watched it twice! All I can say is EPIC!!! That seems to be my word when it comes to all things Seeker!!! I LOVE the cast but, IMHO Bridget is the show!!!

Rating for Bound: Solid A
It’s great to have a new episode, and what an episode.
This episode had so many good moments. Richard’s question to Nicci, “What kind of a monster are you?” was moving. As was the kiss Richard gave Kahlan via Nicci.
Kahlan’s mother was enchanting, and it’s great that Kahlan got to see her mother again. Even her rotten father benefited from Kahlan’s presence. When her father told her he was going to lead an honest life “not because the Mother Confessor told me to, but because my daughter asked me to”, that was a tender moment.
Legend of the Seeker is truly marvelous. Season Two continues it winning streak. It would be a tragedy if there was no Season Three.

good episode. Kahlan and her Father did an excellent job. Kahlan’s Father was really good.
Richard might have to start loving more of these ladies to make their quests easier (nicci, denna, cara (last year)). The toughest ones seems to like him. OK..sorry, that was not very romantic. Maybe change his name to Tiger.
By Dman, March 22, 2010 @ 1:50 am
Loved it but not enough Bridget for me on this one. Missed her curls as well. Her natural curls and general natural looks is a big plus. I think they are putting too much make up lately and she really does not need much at all. She just beautiful the way she is. But then again it may have been the HD quality or not enough sun tan. She has beautiful freckles. Maybe i am too critical but the last two episode..not enough Bridget Regan. Ive also noticed that perhaps they are trying to make her Kahlan appearance to be a stronger warrior. Less vulnerable, less weak but more confident character. But i like the way she was on season 1 and earlier in season 2 episodes…its more realistic and honest look. Her smiles lights up the screen and her beautiful acting show more with her natural looks. Overall, she still wonderful to watch.
By RandyAW, March 22, 2010 @ 4:24 am
I could not agree more that Bridget doesn’t need the make-up. She is a naturally stunning woman BUT this is Hollywood and as such they won’t miss a step in making the shows two main ladies as pretty as they can.
It makes it harder to miss Bridget and Tabrett in promos posted on the net. If a little make-up helps grab a few new fans for the show, I can live with it.
By Rachel, March 22, 2010 @ 12:59 pm
What a good episode… I loved it. Particularly, the scenes with Kahlan and her father. I never realized just how sinister confessors are when it comes to having children. While I don’t agree with how her father treated his children, part of me felt bad for the guy. It’s really sad that Kahlan was brought up knowing she’ll never have children without confessing their father first. That’s so dark!
LotS never fails to entertain
By Yasir, March 22, 2010 @ 3:02 pm
Part of the reason I love Bridget’s performances (aside from the fact that she is awesome) is she knows what it means to be a confessor since she has read at least the first book (countless times).
The show is great but there is just not enough time to explain in detail things like what being a confessor really means and ever since I read the books early in season 1, I watched the show in a new light and have enjoyed it so much more since then.
By Melinda, March 22, 2010 @ 3:21 pm
This episode was awesome. I love the part at the end when Richard was crying over Nicci when he thought that he lost Kahlan. Kissing over Nicci hoping that Kahlan would feel it. I felt for him.
By RandyAW, March 22, 2010 @ 3:47 pm
That scene with Richard and Nicci was the show stealer, not to take anything away from the rest of the show but even I felt Richards pain.
By Russell, March 22, 2010 @ 4:18 pm
How romantic! Nicci ‘found’ herself in the middle of the Seeker love-sandwich. Watch out Kahlan, Nicci’s got a crush on Richard! She even poofed her hair and dumped the Keeper–by the twinkle in her eye, she wants more than Richard’s hahn!
By Busse, March 22, 2010 @ 5:07 pm
I also found all those aspects great , all of the above ;9
to bad i found that Kathlans “movie” Father was earlier pointed out in the first season to be a crook … so , THAT Father should have been “hateble” but what a character , so noble thought the role didnt gave to much ground.
( have to look up the Actor , great role. )
Actually that Nicci , she is “excatly ” how I figured her , she has that angel Outfit and face , but THE darkest Eyes thinkable and a VERY “frosty” voice … NICE CASTING ..
I get the impression , that the Team got now one superb Episode after the other, even the Makeup for Bridget/Kahlan is now much bettern then in those first Episodes of Season 2.
BUT I was wondering if they already use so much of the ideas from “Niccis Book”, ( 6th book )
- the spell
- Niccis “change”
- the “soul” statue
what kind of content are they planing to show us in Season 3
Mybe someone else remebers those “books” shown on the Twitter-picture, with all those “postits” , They had a lot of them in the last three books ..
( book 7 and 8 aint worth reading … its just a filler
… imho )
Question : ist there a liste of the different Directors of the Episodes in Season 2 ?
By darkops, March 22, 2010 @ 7:37 pm
Oooh… nice pic from episode 16 (Desecrated). Headlock! Another rerun after this Saturday’s episode (Creator)? Boo!
By dman, March 22, 2010 @ 11:04 pm
What a beautiful woman this BR. Really, i don’t see a reason for hiding her face with too much make up. She will grab the audience with her natural looks. Just my opinion. Really love her smiles. Want to see the white dress and curls and beautiful smile. Cannot wait for the next episode
By Russell, March 23, 2010 @ 1:14 am
I agree, Ms. Regan is naturally beautiful and very fashionable. It’s irritating how Hollywood tends to promote unhealthy and unnatural looks for women. (That’s why I don’t care for WW and the costume is super-goofy.)
By darkops, March 23, 2010 @ 7:43 am
@emilyfoxler (Nicci) is now on Twitter. Link
By Patricia, March 23, 2010 @ 7:27 pm
I loved this ep because it furthered the power of Richard’s and Kahlan’s love for one another. Nicci and Kahlan essentially died and his love brought them back, in a very touching scene.
I also loved the scenes between Kahlan and her father. So much emotion from both of them – and it was all just beneath the surface. The very last scene when he’s leaving and she doesn’t want to embrace him – it tugged at my heart. I hope we get to see him again.
By Dennis, March 24, 2010 @ 9:42 am
1. Why didn’t Cara
kiss“Breath of Life” Kahlan when Nicci was dying? Seemed like a no-brainer to me.2. Why would Kahlan be getting physically tossed around when Nicci was… doesn’t make sense. They weren’t puppets on the same string, just maturnally bonded. When a pregnant mother sleeps the unborn baby typically doesn’t. I could understand her feeling the same pain, etc, but the jerking around was a bit much.
Other than that, I did enjoy this Ep very much. Bridget and Tabrett are such darn good actresses. I can’t say it enough — looks aside — these ladies ARE REALLY GOOD ACTORS, both of them so capable of selling the genuine emotions of a scene. Craig is getting better for sure; when he was crying over Nicci he did sell it well. But he’s def outclassed by these ladies (sorry Craig).
I give it a B+ (minuses for the above 2 flaws). LOTS really needs to carry on more seasons. To end this year would be so tragic. Its really gotten its stride this season; Tab brings so much to the mix, the writing is superb; the whole chemistry is brilliant. I know you’re the choir, but sheesh(!) I can’t help repeat the frustration of Disney abandoning such a brilliant production. (Imagine if Seinfeld didn’t come back after their first season? Similar brilliance would have been lost to the world.)
I think I’ll take 5 and write another letter to Disney. I hope you do too… right now… stop reading and send off a quick one… if we lose LOTS you’ll wish you had written more letters…!
Cheers all.
By RandyAW, March 24, 2010 @ 12:46 pm
Well as for #2 I can’t say but as for the first thing, Nicci even said that Cara would have to give it to both of them for it to work.
By Yasir, March 24, 2010 @ 2:15 pm
Yep, 1 was explained in the show and as for 2 the way it’s described in the books maternity spell establishes a bond between the two so Kahlan would feel whatever Nicci is feeling and also whatever happens to Nicci happens to Kahlan including cuts and bruises and pain. The mother and child thing was more a metaphor after all Kahlan wasn’t sleeping in Nicci’s womb
If Nicci is hit Kahlan would feel that and get the same injury Nicci does
By Melissa, March 24, 2010 @ 6:14 pm
Yes it was described in the book Faith of the Fallen, I don’t want to say too much or give away too much information for those who haven’t seen the show yet or read the books; however there was an incident in the book like in the show but instead of Nicci asking for a beating, it was more intimate.
I really enjoyed the episode, I think that Legend of the Seeker keeps getting better and better. Love it. Bridget is absolutely awesome and a joy to watch. Can’t wait for the rest of the season.
By Flip, March 24, 2010 @ 7:55 pm
I have to agree…the scene with Richard kissing Nicci was a Craig Horner best. I miss him having a softer side like in season 1. He was more humorous and likable, with no disrespect to the great job he is doing this season.
By Flip, March 24, 2010 @ 8:02 pm
@darkops you’re awesome getting links up…thx
By Flip, March 24, 2010 @ 8:04 pm
Do you guys think the main actors want to continue this show?
By Yasir, March 24, 2010 @ 8:22 pm
I think Craig Horner kinda mentioned that he would like to have more seasons in one of his print interviews. I don’t know if Bridget specifically said that but I hope she does want to continue. I don’t think we have had nearly enough Bridget/Kahlan and I for one would love to see more episodes like Torn where Bridget gets the chance to shine like we know she can.
By Melissa, March 24, 2010 @ 9:19 pm
I am not for sure but I thought that I read somewhere that she would like to continue on for more seasons. Plus reading her interviews I get the impression that this is something that she really cares about and I think that comes through in her performances. The whole cast is wonderful but Bridget is definately my favorite.
By darkops, March 24, 2010 @ 10:15 pm
@Flip
I’m sensing a little burnout from Craig Horner. He seems tired at the end of the season. Can’t say I blame him. He has alluded to wanting more time for himself and some interest in other projects. It’s not like he’s being uncool or ungracious about it in any way. He’s just very open and talkative… which is great. He always follows those kinds of comments with a sincere statement about his dedication to the show. I have no doubt he would stay with the show if it continues. I also don’t want to appear to be putting words into his mouth. It’s just the feeling I get after reading a few of his interviews. It’s subtle.
I have no doubt this show is hard work. 5am call times (Link. Trudging around to out-of-the-way locations. Leather outfits on cold/hot New Zealand days. Constant fight blocking, choreography and training. Working 6 days a week for 10 months of the year. Being away from friends and loved ones. I could go on and on… but you get the point.
I know a lot of people would like to see many more seasons of LoTS. I would too, for that matter. I haven’t been this crazy for a duo of hotness (Regan and Bethell) since I was a wee lad watching Erin Gray and Pamela Hensley on Buck Rogers. But if it turns out that we are given one more season (and we know even that is questionable), I would be completely psyched if the writers could somehow know if there’s an end game approaching and write in a massive Jagang storyline that blows us all away. I haven’t read the books, so I won’t be crying foul if liberties are taken out of necessity. I will, however, be crying friggin’ foul FOR ETERNITY if the show is canceled after only two seasons.
I like the actors on this show as much as the characters they portray. If more seasons are granted, I hope they find joy in it and continue to be the down-to-earth, funny and giving people that we adore. If this season is the end, I hope that each of our players find rewarding projects immediately. They should. If there’s one thing we’ve learned this season, it’s that these guys ooze talent.
By Russell, March 25, 2010 @ 1:34 am
Great question–I was wondering the same thing. Seems to me they could take it or leave it. I suspect Bridget is eager to land a significant role stateside–she’s gotta be a little homesick by now. I’d like another season and a bigger budget! Imho, they should all get raises!
By Russell, March 25, 2010 @ 4:58 am
Also, gotta hand it to Craig Horner. I used to be ripped like that and it’s a lot of work. His acting is much better–my favorites were kissing Nicci and training with Denna (miss her!). The group seems to have a family bond now–reminds me of the Addams family: Richard is Gomez, Zedd is Lurch, Cara is Fester, and Kahlan is Morticia.
By darkops, March 25, 2010 @ 9:56 am
deej has posted cracky recap for Bound: Link
By Rachel, March 25, 2010 @ 4:44 pm
I am against a Kahlan/Cara hookup… I’m in it for the R&K happy ending… but deej’s recaps are always so much fun to read. They kill me with the funny.
By Dennis, March 26, 2010 @ 10:17 am
I just wrote/mailed another letter to Disney-ABC… have you sent yours today?
Apropos deej’s gay innuendos: super funny, super sexy, super in-my-dreams-awesome with Kahlan + Cara. Bringing in Tab this season was the best thing they could have done.
What’s with the Kahlan/Cara fight pic we are seeing around? Oh baby! Can’t wait! I hope its as good as my imagination.
By Russell, March 26, 2010 @ 7:33 pm
Yeah, a Kahlan/Cara hookup would be a lil awkward, but some sparring would be great! Actually, I’d like to see all four of them play ‘king of the hill’.
By Flip, March 27, 2010 @ 9:17 pm
From a Craig Horner interview on the subject of “do they want to continue”
FF: After playing the role of Richard for quite some time now, do you think your next assignment you’d like to get another fantasy / warrior kind of role or something completely new?
CH: I reckon it’ll be a case by case kind of scenario, I’ll just play it by ear. I’d like to do a whole bunch of things, you know, I want to do comedy, drama, fiction. I enjoy Richard, I enjoy the show, it’s a lot of fun, I love being in Auckland, but my creative bones are itching a little bit lately and I’m feeling that I want to do some kind of creative endeavor, another role, maybe some directing of some kind, or some more music. There will be plenty of time to do that when the show is finished.
FF: Do you think it’s possible to have two projects running simultaneously, take a role while you’re playing in the Seeker?
CH: No, not at all, not with this show. We’re in production for 5 or 6 days of the week. I get probably 2 or 3 months between the seasons, but there would have to be a really perfect role, a great film that happens to fall in that time, and that’s rare.
