Hey guys, we’ve been seeing a lot of panic in our comments, our inboxes, and around the web. ABC/Disney hasn’t made any decision yet about renewing Legend of the Seeker and it’s not over till they say it’s over… and maybe not even then.
I know that those of you who have emailed Tribune are getting back letters saying that the show has been canceled, but that isn’t correct. What they should be saying is that they have decided not to purchase a third season. Nothing says we can’t try and change their mind.
What all of this means for us is that we should keep writing (and sending persimmons) to Tribune, ABC, and our local Seeker showing stations. As always, actual physical letters are better then email. I know we’re all passionate about the show but please be nice and courteous in your letters. Let them know that you love the show and you’d hate to see it go. Also, buying the show on on DVD and iTunes is a WONDERFUL way to show your support as those numbers are closely watched.
At this point, ABC isn’t shopping Legend of the Seeker around to other networks so writing to SyFy or other stations isn’t really going to do us any good. If that changes we’ll let you know but there’s no point in wasting our resources on something that won’t help us.

Darn, I was saving my panic up for tonight, I guess thats what I get for waiting.
*sigh*

RandyAW – Ha!
Legend’s far from being cancelled but Tribune deciding against putting in their order in for a third reason is more than a bit troubling. If anything, it’s time we amp up our efforts in letting people involved with the show’s distribution know that we’re thankful and and would love more.

reason? I meant season, ha.
By Lindsey, March 5, 2010 @ 4:49 pm
@RandyAW Yep, I see. It gets you a panic free Friday night. Everyone take note, not panicking makes life easier!

Co- Exec Producer mike sussman on twitter: “Everyone, please, chillax. #LegendoftheSeeker has *not* been cancelled. Plans are ongoing for season three. Spread the word.”

Hey Seventh, just blame all the spelling errors on the herblueeyes.com gremlin.

Here’s the most recent reply I got back from one of many letters written these past many weeks:
“Thanks for the email and for your support of “Seeker”. Unfortunately not enough fans tuned in to watch and we are not picking up the show for a third season. I’m sorry.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what we commonly call a Troll.

@RandyAW
Bingo. It just wouldn’t be a blog without one.

@RandyAW Troll? What troll? I don’t see a troll…
By Russell, March 7, 2010 @ 9:42 pm
There’s no point conceding defeat until it’s official. I’m glad the producers are optimistic, but I got the feeling they pulled the main rip cord and an anvil came out! What are the odds a piano will fly out when they pull the reserve? I’m going to write my letters and enjoy the ride anyway. I really want to see Ms. Regan succeed with her acting career. She’s an icon of the American dream.

I’m sorry @Lindsey, it must have been a left over hallucination from my teen years.

I don’t know all about the numbers, but I suspect Disney is going to make plenty on Seeker when it goes into re-runs, DVD sales, BluRay when they ever do that, for years to come. This show is truly great — Disney has to know that already — an were it in a better time slot it would surely pull more weekly numbers (1:00pm in Chicago — gimme a break!). Although this Obama recession is not getting better and is affecting all aspects of American life, including advertising revenue for TV and radio, Disney has the money to keep it going to know that they will make a profit on it in reruns etc. I’m just saying that Disney needs to not be douchebags and just keep it going. I’ve never been so into a show as with Seeker… at least not since Transformers in the 80s (although most of you kids on here probably didn’t know it was a cartoon before it was a bad movie.)

this whole Twitter #lots #legendoftheseeker chanel looks like echo chamber, anyone with an idea to reach out to other fans for real activism. to have more fans writting letters and email etc…
By Dennis, March 9, 2010 @ 10:42 am
Just mailed another 3 letters to Disney-ABC. I’m doing my part (in addition to countless emails).
That @deanna post about them seeking a 3rd season… WOOHOO! My heart is aflutter with renewed hope.
Was @RandyAW (9 posts back) calling me a troll?
By Lindsey, March 9, 2010 @ 11:34 am
@Dennis Nope, we removed said troll. It wasn’t you it was just a random goober.
By RandyAW, March 9, 2010 @ 11:39 am
AHA!!! Proof I actually saw that troll after all.

Why dont they take a good look at netflix ratings? That is actually how I found the show and im sure its where alot of people find this treasure, it has over 88,200 ratings and 4.4 rating out of 5…those are good numbers
