New look for the cast in Season 2, Episode 13, “Princess.” Bridget mentioned that this was a very fun episode and so did Tabrett in an interview. Have fun posting your thoughts here!

Just saw PRINCESS. Rating: A
This episode was really funny. Normally, humorous episodes aren’t that good, but watching Cara trying to act like a demure, polite princess was too funny.
Kahlan had a very nice scene when she took on 5 guard and beat them all during her escape from a prison cell. And her fashion advice to Zedd at the very end shows that Bridget Regan knows how to do comedy.
It’s nice to occasionally have a humorous episode as a break from the more normal pattern of having action-packed episodes.
Cara had some good lines this episode: “I don’t need my agiels to make a man beg for mercy.” And Cara’s rhyme, “Looking at you makes me sick, you disgusting rotten awful…”
By Hilda Sanchez, February 27, 2010 @ 5:45 pm
Cara trying to act all popper was asight to see, zedd asa woman (he had a suitor) richard kinki some bondage going on. but very hillarious episode.
By JoAnn, February 27, 2010 @ 6:00 pm
Hysterical from beginning to end. A. Best Cara line, “or there’s going to be a royal decapitation…” LOL. Could of used more Kahlan, but at least she kicked a$$ in her usual awesome way. Nice break to the season. Reminded me of “Mirror” from last year. Bravo to all.
By busse, February 28, 2010 @ 6:09 am
Great one … A “mirror” like episode for CARA …
*Spoiler*
So that they have Nikki back … they have all the characters ready for the 3rd Season ( She is like the type I imagend out of the book… blond as an angel and pitch black Eyes like in the keepers underground. Nice )
Cara had some nice long dialog full of “sarcasm” loved it …
Rated : b+ ( just becaue Kahlan had not too much text, ist a Bridget Website afterall
By darkops, February 28, 2010 @ 8:26 am
Kahlan is so hardcore. She bent a plate into a prison shank. I love it. Bridget really would make the perfect Wonder Woman. This pic indicates how wise that decision would be.
By RandyAW, February 28, 2010 @ 9:08 am
Watching Cara was an absolute hoot. I loved the little look she had when Zedd mentioned the virtue of the Princess she had to imitate.
Most episodes like this in other shows are usually throw aways but LOTS pulls them off fairly well.
No idea how Bruce kept a straight face for the cameras, I can just imagine all the whistles he got on set.
Only bummer is, it was a Diet Kahlan episode.
By Yasir, February 28, 2010 @ 12:02 pm
I wish there were more episodes like Torn where everyone gets to see what Bridget is capable of. Having said that Tabrett has really shined in the last two episodes and in very different ways. Hunger was all about the culmination of her journey from mord-sith to hero and being accepted by everyone as truly being part of the gang, I felt the beginning of this episode showed that quite well when they were fooling around before the flying monkeys..oh sorry flying gars took Kahlan.
As RandyAW pointed out the looks on Cara’s face were absolutely priceless, they can accomplish a lot very quickly if they just listen to the voice of common sense from Cara..probably already have the stone of tears by now. She gets the job done every time.
Another thing I was wondering is how many sisters of dark there are. They seem to kill every last one (except Nicci this time) and yet their numbers are replenished..maybe they are banelings with benefits being betrothed of the keeper.
By Patricia, February 28, 2010 @ 1:35 pm
What a romp that was! I was laughing the entire time.
The beginning had Cara and Kahlan gathering and chopping wood…and the end had Kahlan getting herself out of the dungeon and taking on the five guards, and Cara battling Nicci and the Sisters of the Dark. Female empowerment!
(Granted, Richard and Zed were also batting Sisters of the Dark in the dining room, but I liked that the ladies didn’t have to wait for them in order to be saved. As it was, Richard and Zed popped in just as they finished off everyone, except Nicci.
Furthermore, the Prince wasn’t attracted to the Princess Cara that was all subservient and meek but rather to the one who was more Cara-like – she spoke her mind and she wanted to go hunting!
And I liked that Kahlan got the Queen to think for herself…usually that role is left to Richard.
By Snow White, February 28, 2010 @ 9:33 pm
OMG! I loved that episode! It was absolutely hilarious! Cara’s face when Zed said she had to be the princess! And her sucky rhyming in the beginning! LOL awesome
That was definately one of my fav episodes of the season. So light hearted and fun. Definate A.
It’s also so nice to see how close Kahlan and Cara are now.
I’m going to miss not seeing Legend of the Seeker for the next 3 weeks.
By Sara, March 1, 2010 @ 1:00 am
haha I LOVED this episode! I was laughing the entire time-what a hoot!!! Cara’s faces were priceless and I can’t get over how funny Zedd was-definitly my favorite Zedd episode
Cara: “I think you have an admirerer”
Zedd: “Is there any reason why I shouldn’t?”
hahahah
Kahlan light but she kicked complete a$$ as always
And now I have to wait an eternity for new episodes???? Bagh!
By Taryn, March 1, 2010 @ 2:46 am
WOW loved this episode, Cara was a real hoot. Still desperate to see more of Kahlan, but the kick ass scenes were awsome anyway….by the way is it me or does Bridget seem to be getting really good at fighting. I think she weilds a sord better than Richard in my opinion. You go girl. Im going to die not seeing another episode for 3 weeks. Darkops pic of Bridget as wonderwomen was cool too..your right she should be wonderwomen, only if the script is good though, we have a reputation to withhold you know.
By Andrew, March 1, 2010 @ 5:04 am
I loved this episode. Hilarious, and balanced with action and drama. I have to admit I thought I would be disappointed, but I was wrong.
Favorite funny moment: Cara trying to rhyme and Zedd jabbing her in the back with his fan. The look on her face as she tried to force the smile and not look the Margrave in the eye was priceless.
Favorite fight moment: Richard throwing the dacra at a Sister’s head.
I really like this new Sister Nicci better. Her voice is so cold. She really resembles the book version now.
Glad to see Kahlan finally cracking a joke at the end. She was kinda funny in season one, taking shots at Zedd now and then. It was good to see that again.
And, holy crap, Richard got himself a face full! Hahaha.
By lima, March 1, 2010 @ 8:04 am
isnt it weird that they never discuss what happened in past episodes? like in perdition, it showed that richard’s greatest fear was losing kahlan and failing in his quest. i mean, cmon, those are monumental things! but richard never discussed them with kahlan! then last week, cara proved herself to be more than just a protector and that totally changed the dynamics of the group. but this week, nothing! i hope there would be more stories that just feed off one another and not just single stand alone episodes.
that said, anybody know then that tvstar interview with bridget is coming out?
By Dennis, March 1, 2010 @ 9:25 am
I LOVED Princess! Comedy is the hardest form to write and perform; I expected campy, doofy, absurdity. I was wrong, it actually made me laugh. Solid grade A.
Best line: (Cara to Margrave Redface)
“Dear Margrave,
The sight of your face makes me sick,
You decadent, pompous, self satisfying … “
(Oh Cara…! [hearts] )
Their use of dactylic tetrameter was clever and fun, esp Cara. I know this is a BR fan site, and I still [heart] BR, but I can’t help myself being increasingly impressed with Tab as this season progresses. Both these ladies really are good — surely I’m preaching to the choir, but I hope you all do appreciate how really good LotS is (esp given that it may be cancelled).
Now for some minor criticisms:
-The gars kidnapping Kahlan: why doesn’t Zed throw a freezing spell on them? Why doesn’t he teleport Kahlan back to the ground (as they fly her away really low over the trees)? For a Wizard of the 1st Order he only seems to have Wizard fire.
-They couldn’t rush the castle because its 3 vs hundreds. Then how did they escape? We don’t know. 4 vs hundreds is doable, but not 3? I also think Cara should have slit the throat of Margrave Redface.
-The whimpy ugly old lady in the cell with Kahlan irritated me with her passive apathetic whining.
I pray we get a season 3.
By Flip, March 1, 2010 @ 10:51 am
Maybe I was just in a crabby mood when I watched it…but I felt many of the humor attempts were more awkward than humorous. No fault to the acting, Tabrett and Bruce did an excellent job. Craig, not bad, it a total ham role and he didn’t play into it. Bridget, usual greatness but few scenes. Badly scripted scenes in the prison I felt.
I have to admit it was a failed attempt to me. It is not easy to go from very serious scenes to attempted humor scenes I feel. Either do one or the other as a theme.
Sorry, I am not with everyone here.
Not sure why Cara let the guy live in the end. He seems to be real trouble.
By Purplexion, March 1, 2010 @ 4:17 pm
“-The whimpy ugly old lady in the cell with Kahlan irritated me with her passive apathetic whining.” -Dennis
AGREED. She was annoying.
Overall, the show was fun to watch.
My favorite line from Cara, ‘….an eternity of right and good or an eternity of me?’ LOL What possible choice is that? =)
Along those same kinda lines…sorry Bridget, but the new girl playing Sister Nicci is just plain WOW! Ahem…sorry…got that out of my system.
LOVE THIS SHOW! Don’t dare say there’s no season 3….EVAR!
By Melissa, March 1, 2010 @ 9:27 pm
I liked Princess. The looks on Cara’s face were priceless. I think that the show is getting better and better. It definately should have had more Kahlan in it. I thought Zedd in a dress was very funny especially since he had an admirer. Poor Richard getting a face full. I laughed several times the best line was at the end when Cara made her dactylic tetrameter to the Margrave. Too funny!!
By Russell, March 1, 2010 @ 11:18 pm
Whatever it was that Cara ate, she made it look good. Now I’m in the mood for sushi. Also, I liked the way Kahlan said “It’s time to go!”–it sounded kinda Broadway.
By cleric, March 2, 2010 @ 10:25 am
What fun! Watching this episode was like taking a mini-vacation. Had some substance and humor too.
I respectfully disagree with the criticism of Kahlan’s balance in the episode; I thought it was very well-written. Contrasting with “Torn,” what we saw here was Kahlan in the full strength of both authority and passion. She was outraged at her treatment by the Margrave, determined to fight to the last (“there are only five; I can take them”–without her Confessor powers? THAT’s confidence!) and her fighting was not just against prison guards but against the psychological and emotional prison the Margrave’s wife suffered from her life in a repressive culture.
Anyone who’s had dealings with abused women would recognize that lady; she was not weak and simpering, but well-portrayed. Kahlan fought for that woman’s life with her powers of reason and conviction, and those scenes rang very true to her characterization in the books (starting “Confessor” now, last book, second reading of the whole saga).
Small details added tremendously to this episode–my hat’s off to writers, set decorators, wardrobe, director, and supporting cast. The Herald was a hoot (did anybody recognize that actor? He was in “Lord of the Rings”–he’s Faramir’s subordinate officer who points out to Faramir that if he lets Frodo and the Ring go, Faramir’s “life will be forfeit”).
The plump sister was wonderful; the castle depiction was well done. Zedd was a hoot–Bruce must have had an absolute ball in this one.
And Cara . . . I have to say it: the casting director deserves a raise. Casting Tabrett as Cara was as perfect a choice as can be imagined. I was delighted to read of the warm friendship between Bridget and Tab; in the best of all possible worlds, they would be marvelous in projects together in Life After The Seeker (hopefully a long time from now). Tabrett’s little double-take when Zedd looked at her as the candidate for Ersatz Princess was marvelous; I’m amazed that they get all this so well in one or two takes per scene.
I’m glad to see Nicci back in her “proper blonde” configuration; bit of an oddity casting one actor for an initial appearance then rendering her Non-Returnable. Maybe somebody just wanted a New Zealand vacation?
But, sorry to whoever said it, Nicci is no threat to Bridget’s supremacy as Most Captivating Character. Not even close. The actor does have the “cold” thing down, though. I hope the series goes long enough to trace Nicci’s evolution.
Altogether just a marvelous episode. Left me with a bigger smile than chocolate cake gives.

I’m hoping the Olympics had a slight hand in that number being down.
By Dennis, March 2, 2010 @ 2:19 pm
@cleric, your point about the prisoner: I must agree that you have point which I brushed off too quickly when first watching this Ep.
An oppressive fascistic regime, brainwashing of faux morals, sexual subjugation, women as property, murder of women to preserve the man’s morality. She was not just an “abused women”, she was willing to be murdered for the preservation of a politically moral doctrine established by a mad man. Framed in that context I agree there was more depth to that character’s plight than I first gave the writers credit for.
I figure I was so mesmerized by Cara’s neckline that I just missed it. Tab is awesome.
By Flip, March 2, 2010 @ 9:19 pm
@RandyAW…it appears the web master agrees with you:
“”Legend of the Seeker Fans: The updated table for Season two’s ratings is below the normal syndicated top 25 table, but against Olympic weekend coverage the weekend of 2/20 & 2/21 Seeker saw season lows the for an original episode.”"
The list of “brain twinkies” in the top 25 really makes you wonder. No wonder this country is heading down the road to nowhere.
By RandyAW, March 3, 2010 @ 5:05 am
I would love to see how LOTS would do in a better time slot. ABC/Disney can’t seriously expect high figures at that time of the night since A) So many people are out on Saturday nights and B) Many people need to sleep Sunday nights getting ready for work.
By darkops, March 3, 2010 @ 7:01 am
It looks like there will be no cracky recap from deej this week (for Princess). It does, however, look like something is up and if you read deej’s tweets and read between the lines… I think she’s off to New Zealand this weekend for something regarding the show. Maybe she’s going to get to go to the set? Be and extra? Meet the cast? Help write a script? Who knows. She’s being mysterious about it. Hopefully, there will be lots of pics afterwards. Good for her! *jealous* Pic.
By darkops, March 3, 2010 @ 9:13 am
I spoke too soon. Deej just posted her Princess recap.

yeah..it was very funny:))) i just can’t wait to see another episode:D
By Nina, March 8, 2010 @ 12:32 am
Haha!! LoL I absolutely loved this episode!! Cara has definitely got some funny bones in her..it was hilarious when Richard and Zedd both gang up on her to be a princess then Zedd confusing her with all the rules. You can tell she was just about ready to kick butt!! Wished Kahlan had more screen time in this episode though…but I loved her advice to her three rescuers at the end of the episode. You could tell that Zedd, Cara and Richard didn’t appreciate her words of wisdom!!
By Finrod, March 15, 2010 @ 4:58 pm
I have to say, although it was a quite funny episode and so on, i dont like this episodes (and “Mirror” for that matter) in which the whole purpose of the storyline is to be funny.
But from what i can tell of the next episode on saturday, that will be a hell of a trip. Just the word “Maternity”-Spell should ring some bells
So cant wait
By Yasir, March 16, 2010 @ 8:10 pm
Mike Sussman tweeted about this a while back to look for story elements from FOTF. I kinda have mixed feelings about the next episode. It’s definitely based heavily on the book but on the flip side seems the main premise of the book is compressed in one episode. I guess we will just have to wait and see how the writers pulled it off and I will reserve judgment until I see the episode.
By Finrod, March 17, 2010 @ 7:22 am
The spell in one episode isnt the problem, in my eyes. The problem will be if the make Nicci somehow friendly like it is in FOTF. She always was my favorite character (in the books, not the series), so it would be fine to bring her to the good side. But iam afraid thats not gonna happen, with her being a baneling (or something like it).
We will see, but i am confident, the last time they made a story out of the books it worked pretty well with “perdition”.
By Luis Vega, March 18, 2010 @ 3:50 pm
This has been the funniest episode so far since “Mirror”! I just loved everyones acting cara was hilarious and the richards’ winking was epic LOL
