Save the Seeker Form Letter

To assist in our efforts to get LotS back for a third season, Lindsey and I agreed to write up a form letter that our users can copy and paste into some kind of text document and print off and send to their local stations. If you’ve already sent something in, that’s great. You can still use this letter to send to your own or other stations. If you haven’t, you’re welcome to use this. We thought if people did not have to write their own letters, it might make the prospect of sending something in seem a little simpler. We tried to cover the most salient points in a concise fashion. Getting the point across quickly and simply is a good thing! Let’s fight for Kahlan and the rest of her gang and “Save the Seeker!”

To the Programming Director:

I am a loyal viewer of the show Legend of the Seeker. It is my hope that this show will be renewed for a third season. Legend of the Seeker fills the void in fantasy television left when Xena: The Warrior Princess ended. As the creators of that hugely successful show, the individuals behind Legend of the Seeker are uniquely qualified to bring exactly that kind of entertainment to the many people who enjoy such programming.

I believe that Legend of the Seeker can become an even bigger success in its third season than it already is, given the proper promotion. An improved time slot would be nice as well. There is a large audience for fantasy, as proven by the aforementioned Xena, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and the incredible success of the Lord of the Rings films.

It is deeply appreciated that you have been bringing Legend of the Seeker to me and many others in its first 2 seasons. This program already delights people worldwide and surely a third season would find even more fans discovering it and becoming as enchanted by the magic, romance and drama of Seeker as I am. Thank you for your time.

i don’t know mate. but “if you don’t want see nightmares, you’d better be awake” (it is a translation done by me )one wise man said. so there would be no harm sending mails and letters to the addresses given to support the show.

@icarts According to Mike Sussman, the shows co-producer, ABC/Disney is deciding now weather or not to renew the show for another season.

This is a great form letter. Thanks Chris. Some folks are going so far as to mention that they are writing to sponsors and thanking them for supporting such a wonderful program. Here is an example.

Great letter, though I have one concern: The wording “Save The Seeker” makes it sound like it’s already doomed. We’re asking them to confirm a 3rd season, we’re not assuming they’ve already tanked the show. Probably best to sound polite rather than aggressive.

Deej is correct. Titling it “Save the Seeker” assumes that the show is failing. In reality, it’s soaring. It’s probably better to be positive, as in this letter:

Some shows are ahead of their time and are destined to become classics. Shows like The Twilight Zone, Star Trek and The Prisoner have become cult classics because of their extraordinary quality and enduring appeal. Legend of the Seeker is of that caliber and should be renewed for a third season.

Legend of the Seeker has thrilling adventure, true romance, great actors and compelling, clever scripts. The fan base continues to grow, as can be seen by the numerous fan sites, and the Sword of Truth books have plenty of territory for the series to explore.

In a nutshell, Legend of the Seeker is magical, so let the adventure continue.

Hi, folks. Never let it be said that we ignore constructive criticism here at Her Blue Eyes. We read your posts asking to make the request for a better time slot more prominent and also to make it sound a little less doom and gloom, like they were on the verge of canceling it. Please read the updated version, which I think focuses more on the positive and let us know what you think! Feel free to send this in or let us know how we can further improve it!

(sorry about the sneaker comment..good call on taking it out.I realized after I wrote it, not a good idea. Sometimes humor is in the eye of the beholder)

i want the show to get renewed for a 3rd season as well. i love watching LOTs every weekend. I started reading the Sword of Truth series because of this show. They’re awesome. I’ll print the letter and maybe personalize it a little by adding some of my own comments and print it asap. But I hope the letters aren’t necessary and that the show gets renewed because its one of the best shows on TV (to a fanboy).

Thanks for leading the fight blue eyes! I will definitely be writing to everyone on your list. This is a disaster. The show never, ever received the advertising or time slot it deserved!!!! I am so angry at their ignorance! What will it be replaced with, another damn reality TV show? I’ll be turning off my TV set unless Seeker strikes back.

I love legend of the seeker more than any show on TV even more than Xena warrior princess.I would also love to have a 3rd season which the show deserves.CW or which other station can pick up legend of the seeker will do great during a 3rd season of legend of the seeker it has great family value,true love,true friendship,adventure,magic morals with good lessons for grownups & teens alike.please send this letter to the stations so they pick up legend of the seeker for a 3rd season.

I am glad no decision has been made yet. Save The Seeker. Disney-ABC do not drop The Seeker. Give The Seeker season 3. Or sell at reasonable price to SYFY for season 3. Do not be selfish.
