Wow! That’s all I can say. Kahlan’s new outfit makes her look like the coolest rock chick ever! Stunning. Craig also looked very handsome ;)

I really enjoyed that episode. Probably the 3rd best of the season.

  • By mojo, January 16, 2010 @ 5:13 pm

yes that dress was awesome! Finally the sisters of the light turn up,I’ve been waiting for them since the start of the second season.

  • By Charlie Schmidt, January 16, 2010 @ 5:40 pm

Having just seen Light, it gets an “A”.

    ******spoiler alerts**********

Any episode in which Cara kills Denna automatically gets an “A”. But this episode had much more. Richard told Kahlan “I love you.” That was romantic. And Richard gave Kahlan the sword of truth, after which Kahlan used it in battle.

Kahlan’s new dress is very nice.

There was a funny scene where Cara told Kahlan that she was impressed by how tough Kahlan was, since most Mord-Sith’s would faint, whereupon Kahlan faints.

In this episode, Zedd used his wits very well. It was touching when Zedd tried to convince Denna to be a better person and start a new life. It seemed like Denna was actually considering doing that (when Cara intervened).

It is nice seeing Kahlan and Cara working as a team. They work well together.

This episode had a lot of action and a lot of twists – with twists such as Zedd’s apparent death, and Richard being a wizard, and Cara dispatching Denna. And it looks like there will be a new seeker named.

Once again, Richard gives a moral lesson when he refuses to sacrifice ordinary people. Richard’s moral compass is good.

This makes 8 excellent episodes in a row. All the cast had significant parts and played them well.

  • By icarts, January 16, 2010 @ 5:52 pm

i think du chaillu referenced the mud people!!! craig seriously needs a haircut, i mean hes beginning to look like a girl. bridget was great as always, the story was better in the book because of the R/K tension but it was good in this ep too.

  • By icarts, January 16, 2010 @ 5:54 pm

also, hilarious when cara checked sister elizabeth’s pulse and said “shes dead” and moved on. shes so apathetic

  • By Melissa, January 16, 2010 @ 5:59 pm

I absolutely loved the episode. It was great. I especially loved the scene where Cara compliments Kahlan and then she faints. Kahlan’s new dress was awesome. I have only recently gotten into the series and the books. I didn’t know what I was missing. The cool thing is my mom even likes the show.

  • By Melissa, January 16, 2010 @ 6:02 pm

I agree with icarts Cara was hilarious when she said that. My mom was watching and she asked me is she always like that and I said yeah pretty much. I just laughed. Cara has been a good addition to the quest!!!

  • By debRab, January 16, 2010 @ 6:46 pm

Great ep! Love all of the ties back to the books themes and characters. I like Kahlan’s new costume but I wish they would have explained it somehow why she changed from her travel clothes/confessor dress – maybe I missed it. When I was watching I kept thinking the only reason the changed the costume was for ratings, which took me back to reality.

  • By Superman, January 16, 2010 @ 7:02 pm

Bridget’s new outfit = absolutely awesome.
What i dont like though is how they chose to get rid of the 2 other sisters, way off the real storyline, but hey you cant ask for everything. At least they are holding true to him being a wizard and going off to Palace of the Prophets, even if it goes against the real lore involved in Goodkind’s world.

  • By Superman, January 16, 2010 @ 7:03 pm

Oh, and adding in Cara’s sense of humor so ever present in the books towards Richard was a nice touch.

  • By Charlie Schmidt, January 16, 2010 @ 7:04 pm

Normally it’s considered cowardly for someone to be shot in the back, but watching Cara shoot Denna in the back is poetic justice since Denna is so treacherous. Cara did tell Denna that “If Richard has so much as a scratch on him when I get back, you’ll be sorry.”

Will Denna become a Baneling? Perhaps.

  • By Cait, January 16, 2010 @ 9:35 pm

I laughed too when Cara checked the Sister and was like “she’s dead” I really liked this episode. I wanted to see Cara and Denna battle it out one more time. I love Kahlan’s new dress! Next episode looks interesting as they name a new Seeker. Glad that Cara and Kahlan are trusting each other now. Cara shoving Kahlan out of the way was cool and them fighting together was awesome. A+

  • By John, January 16, 2010 @ 11:33 pm

    A+
I love that Richard and Kahlan have chose to love each other but just never have sex. It makes me so happy that they can still love each other!

  • By Erica, January 16, 2010 @ 11:39 pm

I love how when Richard and Kahlan exchange gifts, they are weapons.

  • By Lee, January 17, 2010 @ 4:49 am

The new outfit looks awesome! It makes her look more intense and warrior-like.
I absolutely love Cara—her humor and lack of sympathy. She’s so cool!
Yeah, the part where she pushed Kahlan out of the way when the arrow flew at them and then when she heals Kahlan were great! they have great teamwork together.
It’s so cute that Kahlan and Richard traded weapons…aw….
I really enjoyed this episode—-although I did felt that some things were rushed, but it doesn’t matter, the episode was well made.

  • By Charlie Schmidt, January 17, 2010 @ 8:08 am

One of the nice features of LotS is that the episodes bring up interesting ethical issues. Sister Verna told Richard that “knowledge is much easier to learn than wisdom”. That’s an important point. Knowledge consists of knowing facts and information, whereas wisdom is knowing and doing what’s right.

Also, Cara is starting to show empathy. When Kahlan had trouble walking because her leg was hurting, Cara said that she was tired and needed to stop. It’s clear that Cara was making an excuse to give Kahlan a chance to rest.

When LIGHT started, the house where the Sisters of Light lived looked just like Cara’s sister’s home. The director probably decided to use the same house since who would notice.

It seemed that Zedd’s talk to Denna about how Denna should start a new life was working. Zedd is wise and it was to see him trying to solve a problem by talking rather than violence.

    Season Two continues to soar.

  • By Busse, January 17, 2010 @ 8:24 am

WOW … is also the Word which describes best that movie for me.

For those who dont know the books … its a totally different approach ;) and @icart no she is not from the “Mud” People.( to explain that the book takes quite some time so read ist ;) )

Personnally I found it bad that Denna “just” died at the end of the Episode, just like that. But maybe she gets “better(godd person)” in the Underworld … I think we will See you again ….

The Sister of light were nice introduced , but I didnt get the first impression in that House, should that be that House of the “sister of Lights ?!” , also those “Daggers” seems a little bit to large for the outfit of those Sisters and the dresses are symbolic ( at least in the books they get explaind , for siters and apprentives )

I loved the movie for it intense story, and that part between Richard and Kathlan ( by the way , where did she get that “outfit” , did Zedd some “magical tailoring” again ;) … look so good and her, and they also changed her face appearance with the cloth change , no DARK Lipstick any longer GREAT …she look much more now as in season 1 … BETTER for my tast )

Denna had some realy cool lines, seems that they will eventually be like strange “friends” …. siters of the agil

For my Taste the Series goes very nice …. Its easy to forget “Baneling” kind of episodes that way …

on its way to Season 3 …. go go go

  • By Lisa, January 17, 2010 @ 10:48 am

Loved the episode; it did seem like they were trying to cram a lot in, though. Maybe I wouldn’t feel that way if I hadn’t read the books. I too was hoping for some explanation for the costume change…yes, it’s great, but I wish they had time to provide a reason, like, “oh, let’s have you stop being so recognizable as the Mother Confessor, here wear this,” etc. While Bridget always looks great, I think a more natural makeup look is truer to Kahlan’s character…the extra eye makeup didn’t seem quite right. Her blue eyes look great with minimal makeup, I think they should go back to that. The straighter hair def gives her a more edgy look.

Also, I LOVED the sparring between Sister Verna and Richard; so reminiscent of the books. And Kahlan’s faint was hysterical. This cast is so great with comedy, something they rarely get to do (cause that’s just not the nature of the show, obviously)…so I really hope they put together an awesome blooper reel from this season!!

  • By Patricia, January 17, 2010 @ 1:17 pm

I agree with everyone; what another great ep! So much good stuff again in this one. The Kahlan/Richard moment was awesome; they are so good together. I’m loving how their relationship is progressing. The sword/dagger exchange was excellent and, I believe, very symbolic. And then they kiss (twice! with an “I love you” in between!) and go off on divergent paths… They are so good together.

The new dress! And her hair was great, too. The whole look was very flattering; she’s simply gorgeous.

  • By Charlie Schmidt, January 17, 2010 @ 1:57 pm

    Bridget Regan just tweeted:

So you likey my new digs? How about that fight with Tabby? Loved every second of that one.

Yes, her new outfit looks nice. And the fight where she and Tabrett took on the D’harans was nicely done.

  • By Jude, January 17, 2010 @ 2:09 pm

As a huge fan of the books and the series I loved the episode. Trying to keep elements of the books as best they can.
What I really liked was the devlopment of the relationship between Richard and Kahlan. When he got the headaches how she fussed over him and how he clung to her. And then their goodbye. It showed they have a level of intimacy even though they could not be “together”. They are a couple. The heart and soul of the books is their love story and the sacrifices they make for one another and their people. I am glad the producers have not gone with the normal hollywood formula. Whether they get married like they should remains to be seen though

  • By Charlie Schmidt, January 17, 2010 @ 2:58 pm

Deej has done her recap of LIGHT, which she says is the best episode yet:

    http://deej.livejournal.com/120232.html

  • By Howl4cam, January 17, 2010 @ 4:13 pm

I absolutely love Kahlans new travel outfit. Was it just me, or was she just absolutely gorgeous in her first close up. She really stole this episode. Loved that she and Richard dared to share a long kiss….not sure about the sisters at first, but sister verna kind of won me over. This episode was great in a lot of ways, but I definitely think Bridget owned it.

  • By 3rd Order Wizard, January 17, 2010 @ 5:03 pm

I’m not saying she doesn’ot look good in that dress. She always looks beautiful, but … I don’t know … She’s the Mother Confessor. She should not dress like that.

Isn’t she like the Pope, within that universe? Imagine the Pope in a leather dress. XD

She looks good, but I think the outfit does not fit the character. That’s my opinion.

The episode was great! I love Denna. I hope she comes back somehow.

  • By Cait, January 17, 2010 @ 5:18 pm

    @3rd Order Wizard

Maybe Kahlan got tired of washing the white dress because it got dirty a lot so she bought another one. Dirt is less noticeable & this one breathes more. Hehe

  • By Sarah, January 17, 2010 @ 7:46 pm

She’s nothing remotely like the Pope. She’s the Mother Confessor within that universe, she’s feared and she’s very much a warrior as well. She does (or wears) what she needs to do. Read Stone of Tears. You’ll love it. ;)

  • By Lindsey, January 17, 2010 @ 8:47 pm

I think the BIGGEST change from the books to the series for me was Zedd’s reaction to Kahlan letting Richard go with the Sisters. In the book he has a HUGE fit and, if I remember correctly, he drags Kahlan off by her hair in his rage. I was so totally prepared for that when I watched the episode… but it didn’t happen. I was a bit gobsmacked.

  • By flip, January 17, 2010 @ 8:55 pm

Great episode…not too heavy and not too light. I thought it all flowed quite smoothly within an interesting storyline.

Richard finally lets his hair down and tells Kahlan he loves her..awwwww. Bridget does SUCH a great job on these romance scenes. It is a large part of my attraction to the the whole show, her ability to really “live” the part. Her facial expressions just would melt any heart…she really seems to love/adore/treasure Richard. She has done such a great job it is a constant question on the internet about her and Criag Horner’s relationship in real life. Now THAT is a good acting job.

Tab is really doing a better and better job at Cara. Richard is doing a better and better job at “grown up” Richard (less annoying). Zedd (Bruce Spence) does not look healthy….I hope it was just the make-up for the show. He’s a smoker….you need to stop Bruce

  • By flip, January 17, 2010 @ 9:08 pm

funny job too on your recent review!!!!!!!!!!

  • By Yasir, January 18, 2010 @ 8:12 am

This was probably the first episode of season 2 almost entirely based on the book and while the writers changed some things I felt they had to in order to keep it within the confines of Disney. Also, I don’t want to give out any spoilers but there was very clever use of some of the lines from other situations in the book.
As for Bridget in the new costume, I got chills seeing her fight with the sword of truth. I think if Zedd had any sense he would simply have named Kahlan as the new seeker until Richard’s return..

  • By ark, January 18, 2010 @ 10:13 am

@Yasir: I totally agree with you on Kahlan using the Sword of Truth. Coolest. Fight. Ever. And that final blow when she turns around and her hair flies behind her… beautiful! I kept replaying that on my player in slow motion.

I also thought that it would be really cool if Zedd named Kahlan the new Seeker. In Wizard’s First Rule, there was a part where Zedd said that Kahlan could be a good Seeker, but Kahlan doesn’t want the added responsibilities.

For the lines… I know that Sister Verna’s “knowledge vs wisdom” speech was taken from the books, but she had said that to Kahlan, and Kahlan had replied that Richard had a lot of wisdom. I remember because I’ve just re-read that part a couple of days ago.

Kahlan’s “if you love me, you’ll do this” speech was also taken from Stone of Tears, but it was very heart breaking in the books.

All in all, best episode so far. And Kahlan’s new outfit makes one stop breathing for a moment. I don’t care about the explanations for how she changed to that outfit, I’m just happy she’s wearing it.

@3rd Order Wizard: In the books, Kahlan doesn’t always wear her Mother Confessor dress. She only wears it on special occasions or when there’s some formal event going on. So Kahlan wearing that super-hot dark outfit (or her forest garb) actually makes more sense when they’re travelling.

  • By Yasir, January 18, 2010 @ 10:38 am

    ****** spoiler alerts ***********
The books are definitely a lot more heart breaking especially “Stone of Tears” and “Faith of the Fallen”. These include two of the instances when Richard and Kahlan got separated for an extended period.

As for the line when Kahlan said “I can’t live in a world without you” is very similar to a line taken from “Faith of the Fallen” and was actually used by Richard when he was being forced to leave Kahlan to save her life.

  • By Yasir, January 18, 2010 @ 10:44 am

Just wanted to add that even though they have toned down some of the heart breaking events, Bridget’s expression always conveys the depth of Kahlan’s feelings so very well. I am really looking forward to ep 11 (Torn)..

  • By Rusty, January 18, 2010 @ 11:16 am

This episode gets an “awesome” rating. Wow. I like the more relaxed, natural look thy’re going for with Kahlan. Her new outfit is perfect, and it seems she’s more attractive than ever(if that’s even possible!!) The fight scenes were well done, and Kahlan with the sword of truth was pretty cool. I love the depth that Cara’s character has now. She has really turned into quite the lovable and sexy ally of Richard’s and an excellent fighting partner with Kahlan. Fantastic episode, can’t wait to see more!!!

  • By Olyvia, January 18, 2010 @ 6:55 pm

i couldnt help but think she reminded me of final fantasy x-2 when she was fighting with the sword. Loved the new outfit! also is her hair darker? it seems a little bit darker

  • By flip, January 18, 2010 @ 7:38 pm

I figured it out, Richard is absolutely powerless when Kahlan looks at him and has that sexy muted trumpet in the background…

  • By ark, January 18, 2010 @ 9:06 pm

@Yasir: I know what you mean about Bridget. She gives a lot of depth and emotion to the show. Out of all the cast, I think Bridget’s the one who’s irreplaceable. I can’t think of anyone who would be a better Kahlan. I mean, it’s pretty easy to find an old, Wizard-like actor for Zedd. Craig Horner…I’ve seen his interviews and he seems like a really nice dude, but I have to say, someone else can still play Richard. I think that someone else can play Cara too. I’m sure there are a lot of women out there who can pull off the sarcastic, sharp-tongued Mord’Sith (but I don’t want Tabrett to be replaced ’cause she’s nosebleed-hot). I can’t imagine anyone else playing Kahlan though. I can’t imagine anyone bringing that kind of emotion and depth to the character the way Bridget does. Then again, maybe it’s just because Bridget has confessed us all. But honestly, I think Bridget’s the one who’s carrying the entire show.

  • By ark, January 18, 2010 @ 9:17 pm

    **** SPOILER ****

I forgot about that line in Faith of the Fallen, but I remember that part when Richard had to leave. That was very sad, on both their parts. I could really feel Richard’s frustration that he wanted to hurt Nicci but he couldn’t because it will also hurt Kahlan.

Another heart-breaking part in the books was the beginning chapters of Chainfire. Hell, the whole Chainfire trilogy is heart-breaking for Richard and Kahlan. But in the beginning, nobody believed Richard about Kahlan and that must’ve felt so horrible. I remember him saying, over and over, “I want my life back.” That was…well, you gotta feel for the guy….

  • By fuat atalayer, January 19, 2010 @ 12:16 am

Well, nothing left for me to say about the episode. it s an A. Kahlan’s new outfit ls awesome. But the awesome outfit is not enough unless someone beautlful doesn’t wear lt (that is Bridget)
Since the very first time i watched LoTS, i saw her talent. :) ;p i had written this not only here but also on other websides that she is a very good (it is a fact) actress. And she is gorgeous, she has natural beauty. i want Ms Bridget Regan to be more sucsessful. And i am sure she will be.

  • By archer, January 19, 2010 @ 9:14 am

Well hell, ya’ll left me with nothing to say. Great episode! IMO the best so far this season. It seems this show is is getting better and better with every episode. As I said in last weeks reviews, They needed to tone down on Kahlans makeup and it looks like they had already thought of that. She looks a little more like season one Kahlan and her hair doesn’t seem to be as big.No matter what they put Bridget Regan in, she is still the finest woman on the planet. I hope they keep up the great work they are doing and keep leaning more and more towards the books as they seem to be trying to do. Even though Jack is back on for this season, If there is a better show on tv than the Seeker, someone let me know.

    spoiler:

    “Perdition”
    Premieres weekend of January 30th

Trapped in the deadly Valley of Perdition, Richard’s (Craig Horner) worst fears come magically to life and threaten to kill him, while the world’s most powerful sorceress, Sister Nicci (Guest Star Jolene Blalock), plots to murder Kahlan (Bridget Regan); Cara’s (Tabrett Bethell) feelings for the new Seeker deepen.

  • By Dennis, January 19, 2010 @ 2:30 pm

And now for my [lengthy] review (since surely you’re all waiting to know what to think of “Light”).

For plot, pacing, and script quality, its a “C”. Yes, Light is probably my least favorite Ep so far. I blame the writers and/or editors; this poor grade is no reflection on the actors. LotS has been getting better with each Ep until this one; it took 8 steps backwards.

The pacing was all over the place; it felt like I was watching a summary/recap of a show. Too much happening without the proper pace or context. (Lee said something similar above, but was still too forgiving.) You guys are way too liberal in your grading! :)

A few examples of why this Ep was lame:
-Two ugly ladies show up from nowhere and The Seeker just walks off with them, with only a dagger? Yeah right. Nobody checked the references on these two?
-All of a sudden Richard is somekind of budding Wizard who needs to be trained or die? Wouldn’t Zedd have mentioned something about this to Richard before now? You know, like, “Hey Richard, you’re going to get migraines and will eventually need to go spend 15 years getting trained by ugly ladies in a different dimension, just so you know.” (Me thinks so.)
-Denna randomly finds a troupe of D’Harans and makes them have a pointless fight with the two hottest heroes around. (Random pointless event.)
-Cara shoots Denna in the back = anticlimactic to the MAX. I want way more satisfaction than that.

The dialogue was sophomoric in this Ep.
Kahlan: “We can replace the Seeker… but we can never replace Richard.” (Me: OMG how predictably cliche! I finished the sentence for her as I was watching it.)

Denna: “And for that you still deserve payment?”
Soldier: “And that of the other men who no longer have use for theirs.” (Me: Nobody would really say that. *roll eyes*)

Richard to ugly lady: “How long does it take to train a wizard?” (Me: Uhm, Richard, you should you have asked that before you left your quest with these two? It probably take 20 years.)
Ugly lady: “You ask a lot of questions.” (Me: Yeah, so answer them b*tch. You’re here to serve!)

Any why didn’t they use their horses to get to the other-dimension-gate faster, esp if Richard’s headache is going to kill him at any moment? For that matter, how did the Ugly Ladies even catch up with the heroes being on horses and the ugly ladies being on foot? This Ep isn’t cohesive at all.

The invisible lizard men subplot was just random and pointless. I get they are “growing” new lizard men in sacks, but where are they getting the invisible cloaks from? Those can’t be easy to make/grow/find. Suspension of disbelief was just too much for me this Ep. Add the cheesy dialogue and I’m rather disappointed.

If it weren’t for Bridget’s awesome sexy boots/legs/cleavage, this Ep would be a “C”. BR’s new getup, plus Cara’s ever lovliness/attitude/cleavage, plus Denna dressing so cute in regular clothes with hair all blonde and making me want to grab it from behind… those three hotties elevate the grade to an “A”. But I solid wag of my finger to the writers/editors of this Ep. I’ve got my eye on you (my other eye is alternating between Cara and Kahlan…yum).

P.S. Anybody but me notice Rachael Ray as the girl in rags being offered as bait to the invisible lizard men?

P.P.S. I know Zedd can’t use magic on Denna, but why not teleport himself out of there? *poof* he’s half a mile away. He still has the magic and can use it near Denna; he made the tracer cloud after all.

  • By flip, January 19, 2010 @ 5:24 pm

    @dennis
you ended with an A anyway!!
I think you could pick apart any episode as you have but to spend time worrying about little details means less kick booty time and sexy time. I will go for the more rather than less.

    A from me. :-) ..

P.S. I liked the Lizard guys addition, pointless? More ways of kick booty time…it ain’t Robert Louis Stevenson.

  • By Lid, January 19, 2010 @ 5:45 pm

    @dennis
ah, you’re my favorite reviewer :) Critical, but at the same time loving he he
By all means, please never stop being itself, whatever other say.
    Episode: 9/10
    Cheers ;)

dang, are they giving up on our beloved LOTS!!!

  • By Lid, January 20, 2010 @ 3:35 am

    @Flip,
No, it’s classic way to pull mases (tagging name of Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert) but I seriously doubt Sam Raimi is personally envolved in any of this project, his name is just saler, good marketing.
These two shows are way to different, one is syindication, other on cable, and other producents are behind both shows…so I don’t think it will be Xena versus Hercules type scenario.

  • By Mathew, January 20, 2010 @ 5:22 pm

I saw Kahlan and were I prone to fainting I would have. Her not fainting immediately and keeping a straight face (even though the pain was fake) just upped my respect for her.

I do wish she had to go the Denna route like in the books but I’m kinda glad that certain things don’t happen to Kahlan (unfit for Disney).

It was too fast paced but I didn’t care since I realized they had to fit so much in the episode. Du Chaillu was not what I anticipated but that didn’t phase me.

That new dress…nom nom nom. I love the on screen romance like most of you guys! Kahlan has so much emotion. The sword and knife exchange, very happy about that!

I think the miswrith looked a bit ridiculous imho.

  • By Truth, January 20, 2010 @ 5:48 pm

Besides the focus on the “ugly ladies” (the sisters or whatever they call themselves didn’t really bother me), I think Dennis got it right. This episode felt like two underdeveloped episodes smushed together to make one giant anticlimactic clusterhump.

Let me start by pointing out what I think is the main problem here: This show’s creators/writers are adhering way too strictly to the idea of making each episode of Seeker an accessable, standalone story that anyone can dive right into. You know what that equals for long time fans? A ton of boring expository dialogue and rushed plot developments crammed into the small space of a single episode.

Take this episode. The actors did a fine job with what they were given, and there were some good moments and entertaining fights, but overall, I felt like I was watching six different shows, none of which were Legend of the Seeker. Just like in “Fury”, we’re hit with a startling new character development regarding Richard. But the problem is it wasn’t developed at all. Just like Dennis said, it happens “all of a sudden” and therefore feels forced and out of place. Instead of building these subplots over time and letting them develop over several episodes, we’re given the excuse that Richard simply “didn’t say anything” about his headaches. No, no, no.

Also, I never appreciated how this show makes gratuitous fighting feel necessary to the story until this episode. When the D’harans showed up to fight Cara and Kahlan, I actually felt like the producers were sitting in the room with me going “yeah, you’re gonna eat this super sexy new outfit slow-mo fight right up, aren’t you, you big sexually frustrated nerd…”. It felt like a parody.

And the drama of Denna’s storyline has fizzled out in these last two episodes. She tortured Richard and killed his mother, she fought Kahlan twice, and she meets her end at the hands of two characters she has the least dramatic connection with. I just feel like dramatic potential was wasted in this episode. But she’ll probably come back as a baneling anyway, so we can hope for a more satisfying conclusion to her story, I suppose.

The best scene in this episode was when Richard and Kahlan parted ways. It was the most dramatic and heartfelt scene they’ve given us in a few weeks, I’d say. Also, Richard’s fight with that lizard dude was pretty cool, and regardless of whether people liked the lizard plotline, I did really appreciate the special effects makeup used here. CGI can get a bit stale for me.

Also, I must admit that I’m not a fan of Kahlan’s new look. It feels like a different character, one more fitting of Xena than the dignified, naturally beautiful character we fell in love with. The big hair just pushes it over the edge. It’s very 80s rock band, which works for 80s rock bands, but I’m not so sure here. Just my opinion though, folks.

I’d give this one a C+. Not the best. Could’ve been worse.

hmm I do agree that her hair should be curlier like it used to be but as long as it stays the same color and the same length I’m happy.

Now if they experimented with green eyes…maybe they tried that for her and it didn’t look good?

    green eyes on Bridget?…noooooooooo
Personally I like Bridget’s natural red hair too. I do love an Irish lass :-)

    @flip
I’m not saying she needs it, god she has beautiful blue eyes. It’s just that I kinda wonder if they attempted to have her wear green contacts (like the books). And yes she looks great with her natural hair color (no one needs to change their natural color).

Unfortunately I don’t see her with red much, only on her imdb profile…

Bridget mentioned in one of her interviews with regards to Kahlan’s green eyes that she was taught you have to personalize every character you play and what we see on LOTS is Kahlan/Bridget. I think most of us would agree that’s the way it should be…

Bill, you freaking nailing it! RIGHT ON, BUDDY!
I bow to your superior review.
“…yeah, you’re gonna eat this super sexy new outfit slow-mo fight right up, aren’t you, you big sexually frustrated nerd….”
    Haha… awesome, I love it.
Bill is right people, this Ep was not a win… (but their super sexy costumes did make up for many shortcomings… haha).
Bill makes a good point that each Ep being a standalone story that anyone can dive right into. For the sake of story/plot development it certainly would be more enjoyable to us viewers to have a serial, ala “24″ or the like. (From my “Resurerection” review last week, there was enough plot in there to make a full length movie, or 3 shows — no need to cram so much into :43 min.)

Hey Mr. LotS Producers who read this site, take a note from us brilliant viewers: stretch out the plot a bit. Have some cliffhangers, leave some points unresolved but yet tie into a larger story, SFX and fights should have story relevance not just gratuitous geek pleasure.

High five to Bill for a hole in one review.

I just recently got into the whole LOTS and I am working on reading the books also. I am blown away by the whole experience. I think that Bridget is completely awesome. She is a wonderful actress. The emotions that she conveys either makes you happy, laugh or just want to cry. I know in the books Kahlan has green eyes but I think that Bridget’s eyes are absolutely beautiful just like her. I did think that the new dress was great. I loved the fight scenes ecpecially when she pulled the Sword of Truth. I think that she should be the Seeker until Richard comes back but I guess they figured they could not do that. Too bad. Each week I can’t hardly wait until the next episode. LOTS is by far my favorite show. Hopefully it will be on for a long time.

New here, hi. Sorry to be such a guy, but Bridget’s new outfit just made me say Damn! Past that, I thought ‘Light’ seemed to be different from past shows in direction or editing. Felt like someone new was controlling the content of that episode. Anyone else feel that way?

No matter, I have to say as I’m new here that I think Bridget is absolutely perfect for this role. Love the show and hope to read more of all of your comments. =)

    @Dennis — High five engaged.

  • By Dennis, January 25, 2010 @ 8:56 am

    Welcome, Purplex.
You’re right that “Light” was different than most other Eps. (See Bill and my reviews above for agreement on that.)
    Cheers.

Bridget Regan on legend of the seeker is superb & nails the part of the confessor better than anyone I have ever seen on TV she is one of the greatest actresses I have ever seen if not the best actress.you can tell on legend of the seeker the love connection on the show Craig & Bridget are perfect together plus Bruce Spence & Tabrett Bethell.I am really trying to help legend of the seeker get to a 3 season which it certainly deserve to get to.I would like if they go to a 3 season that Kaylan & Richard that they can find away for them to be together & that Kaylan can have kids with Richard without her powers hurting Richard.the show has great morals, true love, true friendship, family values, adventure, magic & how they care for other people more than themselves like when Kaylan gave the potion to Chase so his wife’s touch would no longer be a threat to him while she could have given the potion to Richard so he would be unaffected by Kahlan’s power so he would be immune to her touch.in the show they deserve to be together more than anyone because of how much they have given up for other people.the show is good for lessons for grownups & teens alike which you don’t find on TV shows that often anymore.legend of the seeker is the best show on TV today.write to TV stations so legend of the seeker gets picked up so it can go to a 3 season Disney & ABC did a superb job with the show as well as Sam Raimi & Rob Tapert so write letters to all these stations to try an help legend of the seeker continue to a 3 season.
