Oh man what a tease…. I don’t get it until Sunday, here in Seattle

Not sure I’m gonna like Denna in white. That’s Kahlans color.
By Charlie Schmidt, January 9, 2010 @ 5:16 pm
Having just seen RESURRECTION, it’s clear that this episode is the 2nd best of Season Two (just after BROKEN). Rating: A.
*****Spoiler Alert********
This episode was excellent. It started off with a superb action sequence, where Kahlan was whalin’ D’haran butt.
There were several memorable lines. For example, when Denna tried to seduce Richard and added “I could on a white dress.” Sorry Denna, but Denna putting on a confessor’s outfit would be like putting a suit on a monkey.
Also noteworthy was Cara’s apology to Dennee (she’s back!!) and, after being rebuffing, Cara’s saying that she needed to say it. Cara is developing a conscience, and it’s clear that she is one of the good guys.
Kahlan’s command to Denna to “Get your hands off him!” was perfect (as Denna was kissing the pseudo-seeker).
Kahlan’s comments to Dennee that “Cara is a different person” shows that Kahlan realizes that Cara is trying to redeem herself.
Not only was there plenty of memorable lines and character development, but Kahlan did a dazzling save of Cara. Look at Kahlan go!!!
This episode rocked big time. From the return of Dennee to Richard’s death, this episode moved and was full of surprises.
The fights were excellent, particularly Cara versus Denna and Kahlan versus the pseudo-Richard.
Not only was this episode very satisfying, but there was the added treat when the preview for next week’s episode showed Kahlan’s new outfit.
That’s 7 episodes in a row where LotS has hit the target. And previews for episode 8 look like this arc will continue to soar.

I completely agree, except I think I personally enjoyed it more than Broken. It was a bit more complex IMO. Fantastic anyway.
I fully anticipated angst, but this was a far more bittersweet and thought-provoking episode. The Lucinda bit was well-written and surprising. I loved that even when the Seeker had seemingly failed her, he had the integrity to think of her and the family she left behind first. It shows an interestingly flawed hero who is much more importantly a man of honor.
I also loved that Cara openly admits her dedication to Kahlan for being a woman of honor and sparing her life.
The fight scene was a great opener, and I loved that move when Kahlan dove in between Cara and Dennee and took control. Her role was overall much more in command and less desperate this episode than recent ones. She has great presence and I prefer it that way.
I laughed just a bit at the smug expression on Richard’s face when Denna tells him to take off his clothes.
I only got to see a flash of the new dress, because I was so excited for the episode I didn’t think to wait around for the preview. I hope someone posts a pic online because I don’t want to wait a week to see it.
By Charlie Schmidt, January 9, 2010 @ 6:58 pm
@Sarah Yes, it was most excellent to see Kahlan dive in and save Cara. And it was great to hear Cara defend Kahlan by telling Denna that “Kahlan is a woman of honor.”
The romance has returned: Richard gave Kahlan a kiss when he returned from the underworld.
There were so many surprises in this episode. And so much action. Broken is still Season Two’s best, but RESURRECTION is right behind it.
And look at Kahlan’s new dress!
By Sarah, January 9, 2010 @ 7:15 pm
@Charlie, I saw the preview finally. New dress and carrying a sword (AND daggers?)! LOVE it!
By John, January 9, 2010 @ 10:30 pm
A+
This episode was great. Kahlan was really standing up for her self. Not to mention how bad ass she was
By Rene, January 9, 2010 @ 10:51 pm
Haven’t seen it yet but from what i’ve read from all the comments this one is going to be great and i can’t wait to watch it!!!
By Sara, January 10, 2010 @ 12:25 am
I agree with mostly everything said-this was a great episode with some surprises I didn’t see coming (Dennee hello?!) I loved Kahlan diving in to save Cara and I loved what Cara said about Kahlan!
It was a mindtrip to see Richard in Lord Rahl’s robes and Denna in white was interesting. Did anyone else notice that Cara’s outfit looked different-it was darker like more a black color I thought. Everyone is changin’ up their style! I can’t wait to see Kahlan in her new outfit that we got a glimpse of in the preview! Although I hope they don’t discard the white confessor robe entirely-I love that thing! haha, at least let her wear it for super special confessor-esk tasks please!!
By Rene, January 10, 2010 @ 1:09 am
Just finished watching it and It was awesome! Kahlan, Cara and Richard were great in action but the best scene was when Zed had to push somebody using his magic in the battle at the beginning of the show. He was like Neo in the Matrix.
By Truth, January 10, 2010 @ 10:57 am
Okay first of all the preview at the end of this episode the new costume left me Speechless (in a good way) I have swirls of emotions in my head that one word is not good enough to describe
I have to review resurrection after i see the first part of it because i only saw the other half but i can say this The fight scene cara vs. denna richard vs. kahlan was magificent could not wish to have it any other way and bringing denee back to solve the last confessor problem genius
So i am gonna go watch the whole episode again then try to find preview for the next episode and watch it like a million times
and keep the spoilertv.com lots page updated
Au revoir
By Truth, January 10, 2010 @ 11:01 am
Previews up at spoiler tv for episode 2.08
now i am gonna see for screen captures so everyone could get a glimpse at the the new costume
By icarts, January 10, 2010 @ 11:57 am
this episode was great! it was such a great plot twist to bring back denee although its starting to get a little old because it already happened.
denna told richard to take his clothes off! so forward.
the kiss was great, richard and kahlan have toned it down since touched and they just came back!
LOTS is back on track: A
By Truth, January 10, 2010 @ 12:34 pm
Just finished watching. denee was a suprise cara and denna the tension and the fight was marvelous richard dressed in the rahl costume was nice the kiss THANK YOU WHO EVER WROTE THAT IN!!! and the scene where denee and cara was fighting and kahlan came in was really cool and the fight scene in the tent was excellent
overall i cant bring myself to give any episode of LOTS a bad review and and always this was a GREAT epsiode and i can not wait to see the new costume from the preview it really does look like she can move around in it smoothly an the black really gives her an edge making her look like a warrior
By Patricia, January 10, 2010 @ 1:06 pm
I agree with what everyone’s already said; what a great episode! It was crammed full of good stuff. Cara’s and Kahlan’s relationship definitely reached a new level, and I liked that Kahlan didn’t know what Cara had said when she defended Cara to Dennee. And Richard completely trusted Kahlan – when he was with Denna and when he was in the underworld with Rahl. Their relationship is changing and growing, too; not that they didn’t trust each other before because they did, but I think they’re dependent and reliant on each other in a way they haven’t been before.
In terms of the writing, this seemed like the first ep that each of the four main characters had a vital role to the story. In the other eps, it seemed like one or more of them was superfluous and they didn’t really have all that much to do with the plot. But in this one, each one had excellent scenes and excellent action. In one of the early November interviews, Craig said that the writers were writing to their strengths and in this one I think it was obvious. Each character was perfectly written.
In terms of the wardrobe – Craig’s bare chest is still a scene stealer for me.
I didn’t catch a single word of the dialogue when he was on that slab. And at the end, right after Cara revived him and he lifts himself up…my goodness!
Oh, and the kiss after that…very loving and tender…and romantic. *sigh*
By veronica, January 10, 2010 @ 5:09 pm
Amazing episode!! i didn’t expect it to be so good from the trailer!! I loved the battle scenes the save from kahlan and cara’s words to denna about kahlan!! the charachters have fully grown at last and i think we’ve seen nothing yet. Can’t wait for next ep. with kahlan’s warrior- suit!!
By Flip, January 10, 2010 @ 6:17 pm
Cara is looking very jealous, I would expect she is going to turn up the heater on Richard. Expect new low on the Cara/Kahlan relationship then. HA.
A lot of action…I think I need to watch it twice…
Good thing Richard did not go for “new” Dennee…that would have provided an interesting new twist
Denna..the ultimate bad ass.
By Charlie Schmidt, January 10, 2010 @ 7:15 pm
Kahlan heard Cara apologize to Dennee/Lucinda, so Kahlan knows that Cara regrets killing Dennee. Hopefully Kahlan will learn to forgive Cara.
Kahlan really shined in this episode: Kahlan fought off D’harans with skill, saved Cara from being killed by confession, told Dennee that Cara has changed and is trustworthy, battled the false Seeker and had the strength to kill him, and devised the plan to use the whisperers to call off the D’haran guards. She even confessed a few D’harans without collapsing on the ground.
RESURRECTION was such a good episode that the ratings will probably be very high.
By flip, January 10, 2010 @ 9:08 pm
@Charlie. And Kahlan looked her usual very hot doing all of the things you mentioned, a key component.
“New” Dennee is prettier than “old” Dennee so I am all for the change..LOL.
BTW….how come Darken Rahl is clothed in the World of no undies?
The white Mord Sith suit looks too cheesy, like something you would see Cher wearing.
By flip, January 10, 2010 @ 9:13 pm

ive been thinking about how this show needs more kahlan and that made me wonder WHY HAVENT THEY DONE A BACKGROUND EPISODE ON HER?! every other character (even zedd!!!) got a background ep! she probably has the best one (although caras was pretty interesting)! they should make one asap
By Bill, January 11, 2010 @ 12:06 am
I definitely have to re-watch this episode since I spent some of the time explaining certain plot aspects to the people I was watching with — I’m trying to recruit more Seeker fans, naturally. But I’m pretty confident with giving this episode a good A-.
I agree with whoever said that this episode was much more balanced and conscious in how they used each character, something that I felt had been lacking in previous season two episodes.
First, there were some pretty cool action scenes executed in this one. The Zedd action in the opening fight nearly gave me a nerdgasm, if you’ll pardon the expression. And the Cara/Denna agiel battle was so dynamic and different from other fighting styles we’ve seen. I actually think some of the fights could have gone on longer and been played for more dramatic effect. For example, I would have liked to see Kahlan concerned about possibly doing permanent harm to Richard’s body while engaging him in the fight and maybe focus more on her efforts to defeat him without chopping him to bits.
As far as the writing, nothing too cringeworthy on display, which is good. I must admit, I was slightly numb to the return of Dennee (sp?). That’s the second time she’s come back from the dead, and not only was her presence kind of unnecessary (Denna wasted the potion when she could have simply sent some other trained assassin to distract Cara) but, more importantly, bringing characters back that much seems to lesson the impact of death, stripping it of its dramatic potential. Also, having Dennee remain in this world just seems like another loose end, and did anyone else feel like they forgot about the prostitute a little quickly?
The whistler subplot was kind of distracting and muddled things up a bit for me. It’s not that I had a problem with how they did it, but I feel they could have simplified some of the “evil scheme” aspects of the plot in favor of the intense character drama that I guess I’ve come to expect from Denna episodes. Maybe I was just spoiled by “Denna” and “Bloodline”, but in my opinion there could have been more time dedicated to exploring the relationships between many of these people (Richard vs. Denna, Cara vs. Denna and their differing philosophies, Kahlan vs. Denna). There was some good development between Cara and Kahlan. Both Tabrett and Bridget did a great job infusing emotion into the larger, often complex plot of the episode.
Denna could have shown more growth as a character, I think, especially after Richard spared her life the last time we saw her. But I guess there’s still time since they left us hanging as far as her fate.
Also, let me take a line to say that I think Craig Horner’s acting has been constantly improving since midway through season one. I just thought I’d acknowledge that since I haven’t really touched on it before.
Overall, this episode excited and entertained but also left me starving for more interaction with Denna, as I think there’s still room for serious drama between her and the heroes.
And lastly, does anyone else notice how much they’ve been dolling Bridget Regan up this season as compared to last? She always looks good, but it seems they’re using more or different make-up to give her a more “glamorous” look this season. I know all the character appearances have matured this season, but sometimes I miss the simple beauty of her “girl next door” look from season one. Just an observation…
Self indulgent review concluded.

Correction: I meant to say “Whisperer” not “whistler” above.
It is “whisperer”, right?

Hey all, i am happy that the waiting is over. i am late to write my comment; i had a busy weekend i watched the episode at midnight
there is nothing left for me to say. You guys wrote them all down. A+ plus episode, Bridget was perfect, as she always is. Need to be watched several times
i feel, its getting difficult to wait a week
By fuat atalayer, January 11, 2010 @ 3:27 am
@ Bill agree with you about the make up. i, too, mentioned before, as far as i remember after 2nd episode. Some other follower too. i am glad that i am not the only one about this
. Bridget has a natural beauty and she doesnt need more make up then what must necessary done because of the lighting reflection. Leave her alone ( i mean the make up
)
By Charlie Schmidt, January 11, 2010 @ 8:00 am
One puzzling thing about RESURRECTION is that Denna is shown using the compass at the end of the episode, but the compass is only supposed to work in the hands of the Seeker. How did Denna manage to get the compass to work for her?
By flip, January 11, 2010 @ 8:30 am
Gosh, no comments about Kahlan beating the SEEKER in a fight?? I guess no more debates about who is top dog….(I know it was not really Richard…buttttt)
Somehow a sword versus those agiel things just seems corny, could they really beat a sword? Maybe I am missing something. And ageil against agiel seemed really corny in the Cara Denna fight.
3rd the make-up thing…I think girls think we guys like make-up than we guys really do. But Bridget has someone else at the helm there.
By deanna, January 11, 2010 @ 9:16 am
Denna did open the compass at the end of the episode, but it didn’t appear to be moving. Think they only showed that final scene to make it extra clear she had the compass, and as an extra teaser for the next episode.

Anybody else think Richard needs a haircut?
By Patricia, January 11, 2010 @ 9:52 am
@Lizzie No Way!
By Dennis, January 11, 2010 @ 11:01 am
Since you’re all surely eager to hear my review, I’ll end your waiting.
Resurrection was BAD FRIGGIN ASS! There was enough good plot material in this one Ep to make a full feature motion picture movie. “A” grade all day. If anything, there was TOO MUCH crammed into one Ep (in a wee bad way, too busy) — they could so easily have dragged this out into 3 or more Eps and had it be awesomeness. My jaw is def on my keyboard.
Sorry to say I’m the odd man out on the Denna v Cara fight (sorry Charlie, Truth, Bill) but that fight was way anti-climactic. I’ve seen better fights from Cara vs generic D’Harans. I will watch it again when Netflix gets it in a few days, but my first impressions were “weak”. I expect/demand more from my girl Cara (!heart!).
One other weakness: how did Kahlan + Zed sneak up on new Denee + Cara? She came flying in (literally) to smack down the confession/execution in progress. ??? Little too much suspension of disbelief for me to go unnoticed. Wouldn’t it have been easier to swallow to have Zed just freeze new Denee?
Nitpicking? Hmm, maybe. But these massivily awesome standards LotS is setting only lends to ever higher standards. Great stuff.
By Dennis, January 11, 2010 @ 11:21 am
re: others’ comments:
Bill’s review above is right on about much. Nice work Bill.
Richard doesn’t need a haircut. His shagginess helps to increase his manliness (with rumors swirling, know what I mean, he needs what he can get). Too much boyishness ins’t a good thing for Richard. Added tip to Richard’s personal trainer: work a bit more on the shoulders + upper chest + traps. Abs are fine.
I doubt Denna is able to use the compass, just that she has it is enough of a problem for our troupe. If the writers make Denna able to use the compass, that will be stupid, and so far they haven’t been.
Bridget’s makeup is excellent. They make her look marvelous. (I think she’s quite a bit freckled naturally isn’t she?) I’m tortured in my conflict between Cara and Kahlan as who’s sexier. *sigh* An impossible choice.
By Bill, January 11, 2010 @ 12:34 pm
@Dennis — I have to agree about the Cara/Denna fight. I did think the fighting STYLE was interesting, but overall the brawl that went down in that tent could have been more epic — both between Cara and Denna AND Kahlan and HumanCondomRichard.
And Dennis, do you mean to say that you DON’T like freckles? Say it isn’t so…
By flip, January 11, 2010 @ 1:39 pm
@Dennis.
Rumors about Craig Horner being gay are false. This time I actually have a good source, a relative of his as a source. He didn’t have a girlfriend at the start of the series (like Bridget) but apparently does now. He’s actually quite a nice guy from what she says.
By Dennis, January 11, 2010 @ 2:09 pm
Flip,
Haha… I’m risking my comments being purged when we approach this subject; sensibilities being a bit too sensitive around here sometimes. I hope you are right and that Craig’s a red blooded man with the best acting gig in showbiz (you’ve all seen the ladies he’s working with… gaa gaa..). I say that because (like it or not) if Craig is more into guys then girls, it tends to take away from the believability of the on-screen romance. That is the extent of my interest in his personal life. (To be redundantly clear, I truly don’t care what Craig does in his private life, but for the sake of the show it WOULD detract to discover that he and Vin Diesel were intimate.) I doubt I’m alone in this regard.
I hope the rumors are false. I wish people had more decency than to invent malicious rumors like that. I wonder if they sprouted up because Bridget and Craig — both being single at the start of the show — didn’t shack up like we all would have expected them to. Anyhow, I’m sure Craig is a great guy, and his acting has certainly improved this season. Cheers.
By Snow White, January 11, 2010 @ 4:39 pm
I thought that was a lovely episode. I love how Cara came up for Kahlan, and how Kahlan later came to save Cara. And the kiss… I’m so glad the romance is back!(Was it just me, or did Cara seem a little jealous?) In my humble opinion, the romance is very believable. Also, Richard looked so cute with the baby. He’d make a good daddy;)
I personally think Kahlan is by far the most beautiful girl on the show(I may be a little biased as I also naturally have red hair and freckles). She doesn’t need make-up to cover up, she is stunning regardless and her freckles add character:) I wonder if she’ll dye her hair back to its natural colour again. I love her red hair.
I’d give this show an A rating. Can’t wait for next week’s episode, and to see Kahlan’s new dress!:D
By white falcon, January 11, 2010 @ 6:05 pm
okay… I’m in LOVE with Bridget Regan. Anyone know any good therapists??? lol
By Lindsey, January 11, 2010 @ 6:56 pm
… I’m totally flummoxed by the fact that you all are decrying rumors by repeating them. Want a rumor to die? Let it go. This is the first, last, and only time I’m going to say this. Unless and until you can back a statement up about someone’s personal life up with facts in print where everyone can see them they’ll be deleted from this site. I hate rumors, they’re vile and viscous things and it hurts the credibility of our site if we allow them. So it stop here.
As to the show, to contribute to the actual discussion, the whole bit about the leather is actually pretty accurate to the books. In the books the Mord-Sith have blood red leather and brown leather. I’ve often wondered if they were going to bring the brown leather up though I can totally understand it being easier to see the difference between white and red instead of red and brown.
By archer, January 11, 2010 @ 7:06 pm
Great episode! a lot of you all hit the nail on the head with your reviews. I think this one was the best of the season thus far. There was a little repetition in this one as mentioned. There was also the little kiss scene when Richard woke up saying he thought he would never see them again. Minor stuff for a great show. Bill, you are right. Bridget Reagan looks great no matter what shes doing but they need to bring her back to Kahlans core. If the put any more weave in her hair they need to change her name to Rapunzal. Lets hope with the outfit change they will ease up on the make up. I think there trying to make her to mature to soon. Did anyone notice the thigh high boots for the new outfit, smokin hot. Also, the sword she was packing was the sword of truth. This is a outstanding show and I hope they keep up the good work. IMO, whatever way any of them bat, it’s nobodies business. Personal life is just what it is, personal. Peace!
By archer, January 11, 2010 @ 7:21 pm
One more thing about Kahlans hair. In the books, the mother confessor has the longest hair in the land. It’s a sign of authority.
By Bill, January 11, 2010 @ 11:38 pm
Just so everyone knows, my comment about “HumanCondomRichard” was in reference to Richard’s body being used as a “vessel” for someone else’s spirit in the episode — I didn’t mean it as any kind of suggestion about anyone’s real life preferences. Speaking of, anybody hear watch the show “Supernatural”? (Those that do will understand why I ask).
And no, I’m not clarifying that statement to be a kiss-ass to the admins, as I’m sure some may suspect. I simply want to make my opinion clear. Rumors aren’t just malicious or irrelevant to the show, they’re also a massive waste of everyone’s time, and THAT I refuse to be involved with. Because let’s face it my friends…time is precious.
Like puppies and A1 Steak sauce.
By Dennis, January 12, 2010 @ 9:26 am
Bill, you’re such a brown noser to the admins. (I joke.)
“HumanCondomRichard” didn’t need clarification for me; clear as day what you meant, as a body snatcher reference. I don’t watch Supernatural; the only TV show I watch is Seeker… because its so awesome.
Thanks to the admins for not purging my last post. (Your edit of my text is noted and probably appropriate. There I go brown nosing… ha!) … and brown nosing is not a reference to any type of sexual proclivities. *slapping myself for not leaving a joke alone*
By Bill, January 12, 2010 @ 12:35 pm
Ha. Dear God…
Glad you got the body snatcher reference.
And hey, I know this isn’t the “new dress” thread, but can anybody tell me if Kahlan got new duds in the books or if the crazy new costume was strictly created for the show?
I’ve only read Wizard’s First Rule so far.

By icarts, January 12, 2010 @ 4:07 pm
@lizzie i totally agree! craig seriously needs to get a haircut although i have gotten used to it since the beginning of the season. still every so often he does a california hair flip that annoys me sooo much. shut it down!
By sheila, January 12, 2010 @ 9:47 pm
LOVED this episode! Great interaction between all the characters.
DON’T LIKE Denna’s white outfit–too cheesy.
LOVE what I can see of Kahlan’s new outfit. Bridget is already hot stuff, but she will sizzle in that dress.
Did anyone besides me see the possibility of new little confessors being created? Dennee still has her powers in her new body and Kahlan left an already confessed soldier to watch over her……….possible new storyline and takes the heat off of Kahlan as the only possible source of future confessors.
By deanna, January 13, 2010 @ 5:16 am
I love Craig’s hair longer, I think he looks better, older and certainly more sexy. Also if you think about it, he wouldn’t have time for regular haircuts etc.. it suits the character more to have slightly unruly hair.
I love Kahlan’s new outfit, Bridget looks wonderful in it. In the books Kahlan wore trousers and shirts for travelling most of the time anyway. How Bridget ever managed to fight so brilliantly with those flowing sleeves is a mystery to me.
By Yasir, January 13, 2010 @ 9:58 am
This is in reply to Bill’s question about the “new dress”. It wasn’t in the books and has been created for the show but can’t say anyone would be complaining…
By Bill, January 13, 2010 @ 12:00 pm
@Yasir — Thanks for the reply. I’m interested to see the reveal of this new getup.
It’s strange, the colors almost make Kahlan look like an evil version of herself. Just a thought. And now that I’ve backed myself into a conversational corner, I’m out.

Cara told Denna that “If there’s as much as a scratch on him, you’ll regret it.” Since Denna killed Richard, it is highly likely that Cara will not let Denna get away. Cara and Denna are fated to meet again, and Denna is in serious trouble.
By flip, January 14, 2010 @ 7:44 am
Bridget helps Jessica save face in the white leather outfit…good team player. I assume that means Bridget will be forced to wear the albino poodle outfit one day too? Cher brought on in costume design?
Jessica does do a fantastic Denna. I would have to say she almost matches her character as well as Bridget. Zedd as a 3rd. Excellent actors and their physical appearance matches too.

Curious EVERY episode is directed by a different director and EVERY episode is written by a different writer.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Legend_of_the_Seeker_episodes
By deanna, January 15, 2010 @ 5:25 am
It is quite common in any series to have a team of writers to call on, so that more than one episode can be written at once. It would be extremely difficult, perhaps nigh on impossible, for one person to write all the episodes Nevertheless, there will probably be a rough story arc, or even more complex notes to guide them so the series keeps on track. As to directors, it also seems to be common to all episodic TV series to have different directors every week. However, most of the directors have worked on more than one episode. Michael Hurst(of Hercules)- 5 so far, Mark Beesly 7, Garth Maxwell 5, and Jonathan Brough 4, so there is some consistency.
By Aylin, March 26, 2010 @ 1:15 pm
I love Bridget Regan and Craig Horner so much !!!
And I love Legend of the Seeker so much , too !!!
