Hey guys, time for our second Legend of the Seeker Season 1 contest! For this one we want you guys to write a poem about Bridget. It can be funny or serious, iambic hexameter or haiku, it just hast to be about Bridget. If you want to use one of character’s names (like Kahlan) feel free. The contest will run for two weeks at which time we’ll close down the comments and pick the best (worst?) poem to be the winner.
Just like last time, only one entry per person and you can either leave your poem in a comment here or you can e-mail it to us at contests [at] herblueeyes.com. Just remove the whole [at] thing and put in the @. On a side note, we do that to keep spammers from grabbing our e-mail address off the net and innundating us with spam.
Anyway, back to the contest, if you do leave a comment here with your entry, make sure you give a valid e-mail address so we can get in touch with you if you win. (Yes Debbie, I know I screwed that one up. shhh) We’re doing a few of these contests but once you win, you are no longer eligible to win the remaining contests. Basically, you can only win once.
The winner will receive a copy of Legend of the Seeker Season 1 on DVD. The DVDs will be shipped from Amazon.com which means they will be Region 1 DVDs. So please, if you enter and you’re outside the US or Canada, make sure that you have a way to play them before you enter the contest.
Good luck!

So…it’s poetry you want, is it? Well kids, you may want to take a moment to prepare yourselves. Because once you witness the sheer splendor of Bridget Regan…there’s no going back.
/Blows dust off of an ancient book entitled “The Gospel of Bridget: Why Bridget Regan is Awesomeness Incarnate” and flips to chapter 782/
And now…a limerick:
“On my heartstrings Bridget Regan does tug,
Her beauty and charm are like drugs,
She plays the Confessor,
Most men want to undress’er,
But I’d kill them all just for a hug.”
And there you have it.

I have thought at some length,
of this woman of strength.
A woman who is true.
A woman of virtue.
Supporting a good cause,
without a single pause.
It has occurred to me
there may be none like she.
From this contemplation,
arrives a conclusion.
Beauty is not a look,
but the actions one took.

I’m not sure if this contest is over… Hopefully not because I just found this awesome site!! So here goes, ready to stretch that poetry muscle.
With fair, pale skin and piercing eyes
That are such a blue they embarrass the skies
Her smile brings all the warmth of fire
And her talent how I do admire
She’s graceful, beautiful, and pure of heart
It’s no wonder she fits Kahlan’s part
A truer person you never could know
And my respect it never shall go
Though the world is just beginning to see
There’s never been one more special than she
And I hope that one day she’ll shake my hand
For there’s nothing more I could want in this land
Than a chance to meet such a wonderful gal
Oh I’ve such hopes and I pray that I shall

Yeah, I realized that after I wrote that. I don’t know why I was thinking it was already the middle of September. Must be because school is starting again. But I’m very glad I didn’t miss it. And I think this site is really well done. Wish I had your webmaster skills,
.

@Jillian, learning to webmaster (or webmistress) isn’t all that hard. I taught myself the basics then learned the rest by looking at the code for other people’s sites. http://w3schools.com has really good tutorials on how to start with HTML, CSS, and the more advanced languages for free.

Thanks for the info! I’ll definitely look at that.
