DragonCon Photo Contest
August 25, 2010 at 9:13 pm

DragonCon is coming! For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, DragonCon is one of the largest SciFi/Fantasy conventions in the US. The Seeker Cast has a spiffy list of all the planed Legend of the Seeker events here: http://www.theseekercast.com/2010/06/dcon2010/ If you are planning to attend DragonCon and want to do a nice write up for us to use here on the site, we’d be ever so grateful.

And, because Chris and I can’t go and see all the pretty Kahlans ourselves, we’re going to run a contest. We want pictures of Kahlans at DragonCon and we’re not above a bit of bribery to get them. Simply take a picture of a Kahlan or two at DragonCon and send it to us. We’re going to give away a copy of Legend of the Seeker Season 2 on DVD (or the Amazon gift certificate equivalent, your choice) to the best Kahlan picture. You have to have taken the picture yourself or you have to be the person in the picture and someone took the photo for you. Kahlan doesn’t have to be the only person in the picture, but she needs to be in there somewhere. It can be one Kahlan, a group of Kahlans, a group shot with 20 people and only on Kahlan… etc. Email your pictures to contests [at] herblueeyes.com by midnight on Monday, September 13 . We will put all the entries we receive up in the gallery for everyone to admire and you are welcome to submit as many pictures as you wish.

This is just the first of three or four Season 2 giveaways/contests that we have planned leading up to release day, so if you can’t make it to DragonCon, stop back by in the upcoming weeks to see what else we’ve got going on.

ROLE TO DYE FOR ; Bridget lost Stunning trademark red locks to star as telly warrior
by John Millar

SWORDS and sorcery star Bridget Regan made the ultimate sacrifice to land her dream role – she dyed her beloved red hair.

The glamorous actress had to swap her natural shade for raven locks to play Kahlan, the warrior hero of hit fantasy series Legend Of The Seeker.

She joked: “I’m the black sheep of the family now. All my family have red hair.”

The TV adventures are based on Terry Goodkind’s Sword Of Truth novels.

Bridget, 28, whose family have Celtic roots, said: “The books also say my character has green eyes so I thought I would be wearing contact lenses. But luckily they went with blue eyes.

“Sometimes I miss my red hair and I think I’ll go back to it eventually. It was chemically straightened and dyed for the show so it needs a bit of rest and recovery.”

Here’s another link to a Bridget Skype session write-up. Thanks to Sparty for bringing it to our attention! The write-up can be found here: http://community.livejournal.com/legendofseeker/767289.html#cutid1

We got a surprise in our e-mail today. Someone had sent us a little write-up they did about a Skype session with Bridget. They wrote it up especially for us, so here it is:

I also had a Skype session with Bridget but I hadn’t posted about it because…well…I have a terrible memory, and I don’t think it would be fair to her to recite word-for-word what we talked about. I’d inevitably get it wrong.  Plus, I have a thing about respecting someone’s privacy; we didn’t talk about anything personal but still, it was a personal conversation.

That being said however, I don’t think it would be crossing the line to give a short recap.  She was definitely very appreciative of and humbled by the support that CW has gotten. We talked a lot about CW and about financing Broadway shows in general.  It’s something I knew very little about and it was an education having someone so close to it explain it to me. We talked about The Lovely Bones, NINE, Daniel Day-Lewis, The Last of the Mohicans, Italy and Paris, and Is He Dead?  Legend of the Seeker did come up, of course, and the fact that Kahlan will be missed. But I did emphasize how much I’m looking forward to seeing whatever she does next.

And finally, I’m sure you’ve all read the reports by the other Skypers about how much fun it was. It was all that and more, tons more. It was an absolute treat; now, even a week later, I still have this goofy grin on my face that everyone keeps asking me about. If she ever volunteers her time again, I would highly recommend it (the line will be forming right behind me!)

Her Blue Eyes would like to send a big thank you to Pat for sending this along to us! :)

Another Skype Session Blogged About
July 16, 2010 at 10:56 pm

Thank you, wolfi, for drawing our attention to this. For those of you who haven’t been reading the comments, wolfi pointed out this link to us at Her Blue Eyes. It is another recount of a Skype session with Bridget! It’s hard not to love her even more after reading all these recaps! Thanks again and anyone else who finds one of these that we haven’t posted yet, please feel free to draw our attention to it! Here’s the link: http://bitchslapfans.com/?p=1248

Well, yet another recipient of a Skype session with Bridget has posted about the experience and it’s a really good read. Particularly interesting is the story of how she got the Skype session in the first place! Bridget sounds like a wonderful woman again, of course, and this fan is obviously over the moon happy. Enjoy! The post can be found here:  http://sandimist.livejournal.com/4140.html
